Well I've been poking and pulling, steaming and bending this sucker till today it looks like this:

It's not there yet - but it's getting there. I want to give that very wide brim a bit more curl.

Very nice - those of you who make those Homburgs look good are gradually swaying me toward trying another one. I really like the maroon ribbon on yours.

I generally like my homburg brims wide and flat, but I have to say that one is looking very good on you with the curled style; that ribbon gives the hat a jaunty look the curl and dents enhance. :eusa_clap

Thanks Mr P. It's a work in progress this one. It has a particularly wide brim for a homburg which doesn't look right (on me at least) when flat. I agree that the maroon ribbon lends it a jaunty look, so I'm going with that and steering it away from the traditionally formal look of a homburg. A bit more curl is needed yet I think.

Thanks much Scott. I'm not all that comfortable with this homburg yet. It really is a foreign kind of hat when you're used to snapped down fedoras and flat caps. Maybe it's the whole 'off the face' thing leaving me feeling exposed.

This one, I think, wants to be a bit more casual yet. The front pinches I'm happy with. It's just that curl...

My first time doing this, I apologise for the poor mobile phone image and the beard which is a work in progress.

The image doesn't show it well, but it's a brown newsboy hat made from thick flannel material.
Grundie, I love that cap! It's classic.

Why do you ask?

I really need to add a Fedora or two to my collection. The ones from hatsdirect look interesting, especially the Fed IV. The rest of this week will be my rabbit felt Porkpie.

Looks kinda "Valentineish" what with the hearts coming out of either side... oh wait, those are on the wall! :p

Why not add some fedoras to your collection?! You'd like the Fed IV.

:arated: Those subtle adjustments really brought that homburg to life with some great character, E.T.
