Good eye Douglas, yes it is. :eusa_clap

Carter, when I got the hat, it had the standard OR crown. I prefer the cattleman's crease on my westerns, but a c crown or diamond crown with forward pinches dominate my dress hats. :fedora:

Mingo, the Black Borso is one of my favs :D

JT - lol "Borsalinos always look better when worn by somebody "with skin on." Yours is no exception!"

Thanks RBH! I didn't wear this hat all summer (at least I didn't take a photo of me wearing this hat); so I figured Too bad fashion police! If people can wear shorts and t-shirts after labor day, I can wear my white hat!

Very nice! I vote that you swap this photo for the unsmiling one in your avatar.

VB, OK. Just for you. :D

Today, it's the Stetson Continental. It needs a new ribbon but I like this hat a lot.

Thank you Mr. Carter! I really enjoy seeing your smiling face shining at me. :)

I am seeing some outrageously wide ribbon on the men's hats this week for fall. Do you *have* to replace the ribbon? It looks great on that hat.

Flat top?

Dman, 4 3/4" crown indented (ala Porkpie), 2" overwelt brim, 2 1/4" grosgrain ribbon, 2 1/4" ribbon treatment on rear of hat with a center seam and a 1/8" pleat on each side. The color is rust.

VB, I like everything about the ribbon except for the fact that it is faded on the front and right sides. I won't replace it unless I can find an exact match in all dimensions and an exact (or very close) match in color.

bolthead, I agree. It's not something you see everyday.

Mineral, I will get that info for you. My understanding is a Euro 5-1/2 is equal to a US 7-1/4. This hat fits just like my size which is 7-1/4.

Hi, Douglas, thanks for the reply. I am quite curious myself about buying the hats from Bulgaria as well, and too bad from the sizes avaiable they appear to need a rather risky stretch to fit my head.

That hat you have looks absolutely stunning.

Today I had to judge a chili cooking contest, at our local fall festival. Somehow, this seemed appropriate. Lock & Co., St. James St., London. Yes, it's red (fur) velour.

Dressed up a bit today . . .

So I got out my Optimo . . . .

110107b.jpg

I just stopped in to "see" the famous Optimo shop a month or so back . . . I knew I wasn't going to buy a hat, because I could simply not afford one . . .

But Graham got me to try a couple on . . . and this one looked so good . . .
Well, the rest is history.
