Enjoying my new Royal Stetson Stratoliner sitting in my balcony, listening to the "Concierto de Aranjuez" with Paco de Lucía, on a beautiful night.

Nice, can't wait for some shots in the daylight. I love that color. A showpiece.

O'Farrell this morning.
Great one Bob.

“Gone Walkabout” and passing thru DIA. Couldn’t resist posting a pic of my “Walkabout” hat with the beautifully-restored Curtiss Jenny hanging in the terminal.

Gotta love and old Jenny. That one has the original Army Air Corps marking with the roundels inboard of the ailerons. You can drive faster than they flew, top speed was less than our current highway speed limit.

A nice cool morning again today. The new Resistol Caronia gets the call.

Named after the famous Cunard cruise liner. Seems likely to be from 1958 or '59 and had the original price of $10.95.

I think a trip to the store for coffee bean resupply purposes is on the agenda this morning.

Very cool back bow. Love that ribbon/felt combo. Dating is probably spot on. When this hat was popular travel on the Cunnard line was still in vogue. Ship was launched in 1947 and served until 1967 (airlines killed this kind of travel by then). Such a cool hat with a cool name. Dig it.

I haven’t had time in the last few months for much internet at all. The old Stetson and I have been trucking around the country. We finally have a short vacation but we’ll be back out on the highways soon enough...

Good to see so many great hats out there!

A minor miracle! I overheard my wife telling my daughter not to rearrange my hats by colors, because they look beautiful the way they are.
And afterwards she asked me in a conversational way if I wanted to buy more hats. I said I wanted to buy about six European hats, and she smiled and said I would really get hooked on those, because they are really beautiful, and we could have a horizontal closet built on top of the other ones, where the black Optimo hat boxes are.
I should buy a lottery ticket today.

I am wearing my first Homburg. It feels kinda weird not to be able to snap my brim down. I will get used to it, wont I, Red?

That is a beautiful hat, Michael. I think it's my favorite I've seen of yours. The contrast of the band and the felt is very appealing.

Lazy Sunday. I 'm thinking baseball and a nap...

Sent directly from my mind to yours.
Good way to spend a lazy day. Love the liner in that beautiful Wormser.

Very beautiful Tonio. Nice lines on that old one.

You are truly blessed Max. You wear that Borsalio Homburg (also known as a Lobbia) very well. When you want to go a little casual, a pinch in the front and you are good to go!

I translated your post to Ana, and she says you sound like a very discerning man, and she agrees about the castle. :D

Thanks Red. Here is an interesting hour long film that follows the passengers through all of the ports of call on a 100+ day around the world cruise on the Caronia.
I found a few newspaper ads that touted the full crown and 2" underwelt brim. They all dated to '58 and '59.

That is a beautiful hat, Michael. I think it's my favorite I've seen of yours. The contrast of the band and the felt is very appealing.

Thanks Max. That mile wide ribbon allows for a lot of complementary color play. The label denotes the color of the hat as Bronze.

Spending the cooler part of today with the Stetson Hemp Stratoliner, Special Edition. I guess the special part is the nicer sweat and a retro pin. A little heavy for the upcoming 90 degree day, I'll be going with something more ventilated for a theater group BBQ this evening.

Nice looking hemp 'liner, Red. I agree that when it gets into the 90s you need a ventilated hat.

Thanks,
Michael
