It is 9:17 a.m. in Mexico City, and I am on my bedroom balcony drinking coffee from my "The House on the Rock Wisconsin" souvenir cup, watching the Wimbledon finals, and waiting for the World Cup finals to begin at 10.
Beautiful day!

One of my two favorite hats, an Optimo Manhattan in Camel. Tiffani sent me some feathers, and I put this one on it as an experiment, thinking I would remove it later. Now I can't get myself to do it. :)

This evening I decided to tweak a really nice vintage Back-bow Stetson Royal De Luxe. I just hated the way it looked because of the wide band. It was very flat looking with no style, tried a pork pie bash but hated that too. Ended up with a raised tear-drop with a small tight pinch at the front, I tried to curl the binding edge as well. 1st photo is before shot.

Looks good. With that wide band, it makes the crown shrink. The one thing I dig about back bows, you can date them fairly well between 1955-1959.

Hotter than the hinges that hang the gates of hell today - and humid, too! So, after attending Divine Service this morning, I donned my Cubs 2016 National League Champs polo and my white Panama Jack hat and headed out for a nice, cold beer!

By the way, this is one of the FEW times I would EVER set a hat on its brim.

Definitely need the beer when you're wearing Cubs gear!

Selling is such a bigger pain than buying. Still, I have hats in every room and better to take some preemptive action than to wait until my wife says something. She’s patient, but we all have our limits.

I keep saying I’m going to pair down my collection but then I don’t want to get rid of any of them. Just now I took a count: 5 vintage in shipping, 7 custom hats commissioned, and another four being refurbished by VS and on its way to Bond. Yikes!

Bowen recently said he wanted to trim his collection down to 20(ish) hats. I like the sound of that but which ones do you get rid of? What about the hats that don’t make the cut but also aren’t desirable and won’t bring anything at auction? Hmmm.

I say you take a page out of Wyldkarma's book. Load up the living room with what you've got. Then let us make the decisions for you! It truly makes it easier for everyone.
