Waiting to have a volumetric computerized tomography for an implant on myself. To my pleasant surprise, it was free of charge (I send these guys a lot of patients for tomographies, and the owner went to dental school with me.) The surgeon won't charge me for the implant (same thing.) The lab won't charge for the crown, either (they better not.)
So, a free tooth, but still a hassle, and a pain.
It was this feeling of "belonging" that made me come back to Mexico.

Optimo Olympian Green Manhattan.

This warm and off/on light rainy morning our power went out. Duh! A vtg.Lee Adventurer was my felt hat to fight the rain drops while I grilled some breakfast.

The advertised "waterblock" worked this morning to have the hat hold shape in the intermittent light rain.

Power restored by mid afternoon.

Best, Eric -
The finish on that hat looks sooooo smooth. Lovely.

That is a good sized brim. Looks like the chance of rain may win out.

I like those two toned weaves, and the vents. Great for hot weather.

I was going to take the Melvin downtown to see a little live music tonight, but that chance of rain, and the radar, told me I had better go with some felt. '60s era Royal Stetson will get to hear the tunes.

A most unusual brim binding!! Borsalino really did some nice ones! This one is way way up there! Thanks for sharing.

Ps: is there more of this one in the Brotherhood thread? I hope.

Hello, many thanks! Very different brim binding for sure. The story I got on this hat is that it belonged to a man named Matteo Nichele who immigrated from Italy to Chicago in the mid to late 1930s.

More pictures here (and another from the same owner):

Really, really nice. Everything, even the patch!

OOOOOOooo.... SOMEBODY's paying attention, and really looking closely, Max! LOVE it!

If you are referring to the Photoshop "patch" on the brim just below the bow, I'm impressed, sir!! It's not really a patch, but a bad attempt at hiding a wayward thread which is visible in another shot. Take some comfort in knowing there is NOT a patch required. Had I noticed that thread when I took the shot, it wouldn't have been allowed. Good call, Max!! I need more practice!!
