It was a two hat day, yesterday and last night. My wife and I spent the weekend in Las Vegas to see ZZ Top. Moon stone Camp draft and Resistol Montana

It's a nice, spring day around here today, so I thought it might be a good day to debut my Akbura Campdraft. I kneaded and shaped it a bit, applied some steam, and figured it was due for its maiden voyage.

This is the first time I've shaped my own crown. I think I need to fine tune it a bit (the pinch appears a little off-center), but I wore it to church this morning and the wife of one of the elders (don't go getting ideas -- she was with her husband) told me I was looking "very stylish." A compliment on the first wearing!

I like the wide brim and chocolate color. I have a Beaver Brand Fedora very similar to yours that I found in a second hand store for $16. It's currently at the hatter being reblocked and restored. I hope it looks have as good as this one does when it's finished.
Thanks Jerry! I hope your new hat comes out looking just like you hoped it would.

Looks good. I personally believe that the organic/imperfect crease looks so much better than factory creases. I mess around with the symmetry a bit but not too much. That’s one of the cool things with open crown hats; we all get to express our individual preferences.

NW Hats custom Panama, fedora style crease. Had Mike Miller make this for me last summer, it was a daily driver then, now it can make it's 2018 debut.

Looks great. Mike! I ordered two Panamas from NW a couple months back (right after the price increase of course) but it’s been crickets since then. He’s also a week or two overdue on a felt he is making for me so I’m guessing he’s pretty busy. I’m trying to be patient and not bother him and hope for the best.
