Thanks, Mike. I'm impressed with your fine collection of Homburgs!I really like that 6 cord ribbon and the brim binding. Very nice!
Failsworth is based on some research, they were the factory. It could very well have been sitting there next to Sinatra's hat on the shelf. The Penn Craft label was owned by Stetson when they went away by the end of the 1930s. I have not found the actual provenance, but apparently Failsworth bought the name, not sure when.Mine too is a Failsworth, but had you not said, I would have guessed that your's was more than likely one from Laird of London, where Frank Sinatra reputedly bought his famous trilby's from. Or so our newspapers would have you believe, so it must be true.
Have you ever heard of the late British comedian: Tommy Cooper?
True,true.
Thank you, Michael. The felt feels very similar to my Staalmeester lords hat, but the crown is a wee bit taller, which gives it a nice distinguished look. The porkpie won out today. I liked the color play with the suit, and more importantly, I got out on my bicycle and stingy brim is king on the bike.
Hope you make a full recovery quickly. Great looking Esby. What a fine shape.
Hang in there Johnny, only another month or so til spring. The VS today is most excellent. Great bow work.
Michael
Lovely hat, Justin. Great looking brim roll and a nice reverse taper.1915 Stetson "the event"
Matt, thank you. Now if only the weather would cooperate...Great looking hat for getting back above the weather. I hope that you are feeling better.
Great work by Esther, Harv. The two-tone ribbon lifts the whole look of it.Loden green Hunters felt by Esther
Good to see it found a loving home. That shape gets me every time. I got outbid on a Cavanagh with a similar shape recently with a ordinary ribbon (more to my taste to be honest); I'm still grieving.I remain troubled by how much I dig the Huggy Bear Cavanagh lord's hat. I think that this is the fourth time that it's been for a spin this week.
Happy Friday bonus sunset shot, too.
Thanks, Mike. Your new lords hat got me inspired. I only have them in black though (for now...).I think Lord's Hats are cool. So very Downton Abby of you Stefan. This one is gorgeous.
Great swooping brim; a hat with attitude, Esther. Love it.
Every time I see it my heart makes a little jump; dream hat. Makes me realise how much I miss my own grey one (which has the brim binding redone).Borsalino nutria homburg in mirtillo paired with the jacket (to comply with Bowen's request of a week or so ago).
Have a Grateful day.
Great proportions on that Whippet, Michael. And great outfit again. Finally quite raining this morning. Don't think it's supposed to snow for a couple of days, but will be cold enough to do so. Seems like a good day to fool around in the Whippet.

Glad I haven't packed my overcoats away, I'll be needing one if I get out of the house later today into a whipping NW wind.

Great hat and great shots, Eric.Dog walk taken while wearing a Gannon w/fray ribbon treatment.

Good looking hat, Terry. The tighter pinch suits it.Wearing my Stagecoach in Chestnut conversion. I tightened up the pinch on this yesterday. After wearing my Open Range conversion for a while this one almost seems like a trilby by comparison...
Looks like the liner was drawn by Segio Aragones.Bailey Relentless 8X
