Mine too is a Failsworth, but had you not said, I would have guessed that your's was more than likely one from Laird of London, where Frank Sinatra reputedly bought his famous trilby's from. Or so our newspapers would have you believe, so it must be true.

Have you ever heard of the late British comedian: Tommy Cooper?

True,true.
Failsworth is based on some research, they were the factory. It could very well have been sitting there next to Sinatra's hat on the shelf. The Penn Craft label was owned by Stetson when they went away by the end of the 1930s. I have not found the actual provenance, but apparently Failsworth bought the name, not sure when.

The porkpie won out today. I liked the color play with the suit, and more importantly, I got out on my bicycle and stingy brim is king on the bike.

Hope you make a full recovery quickly. Great looking Esby. What a fine shape.

Hang in there Johnny, only another month or so til spring. The VS today is most excellent. Great bow work.

Michael
Thank you, Michael. The felt feels very similar to my Staalmeester lords hat, but the crown is a wee bit taller, which gives it a nice distinguished look.

I remain troubled by how much I dig the Huggy Bear Cavanagh lord's hat. I think that this is the fourth time that it's been for a spin this week.

Happy Friday bonus sunset shot, too.

Good to see it found a loving home. That shape gets me every time. I got outbid on a Cavanagh with a similar shape recently with a ordinary ribbon (more to my taste to be honest); I'm still grieving.

Finally quite raining this morning. Don't think it's supposed to snow for a couple of days, but will be cold enough to do so. Seems like a good day to fool around in the Whippet.

Glad I haven't packed my overcoats away, I'll be needing one if I get out of the house later today into a whipping NW wind.
