Thanks Scuttle. I'm not sure what the color is. There were no tags in the hat when I bought it. I would call it a sort of bluish-gray?That's so funny! I recently searched out Mugsy myself (by googling "Bugs Bunny Gangster-- I didn't know his name), keeping him in front of me as an example of "not the intended effect" for myself, and as a visual cue (warning?!) for a hatmaker if I go that route.
I've never gotten the Mugsy vibe from your images, if that helps?...
And now you've made me smile.
I have to say, your eyes jumped right out at me as well-- in the best way.
What color is the hat?
Nicely refurbished, and has anyone mentioned how well the color suits you?

Penman this morning. We received a dandy coat of ice during the night, real pia to get around.
The center dent looks great, and the colors!Already off to a Tuesdillyicious hat day.
@Short Balding Guy, I never got the Mugsy connection either. Always loved the toons with him in it. Just watch out for that rabbit and stay out of the oven!
@fabiovenhorst, love the wide brim on that one. Classic.
@mmbarnes - Matt, that thing is to die for. A vintage Stetsonian is a bucket list hat for me. Someday...
I took some time on my day off yesterday to do some hat work. Currently rebuilding a thin ribbon for my wife. I also spent some time opening the crown, reflanging, and putting a different crease in this Dalton. What was once a C-crown is now a centerdent.
Sent directly from my mind to yours.

Thanks, Tucson was a total dust bowl this year, preferred to leave what I could there.Dang! That's one really righteous re-creased & re-ribboned Royal, Rock!!
The top of your dashboard is impressively, totally dust-free... how?!!
Thanks Matt! Just follow your urges! After seeing you wear your Trimble, I think the hunt has already begun! What a wicked hat. And as usual... stunning pics.
Please STOP IT!!!! You are making me want to hunt down and buy westerns.
Thank you Cornshucker!Love seeing that hat. Wonderful.

Reminded tonight that my hat proportions are crossing close to "Mugsy" territory. I may have to consider reducing the crown a bit. Or perhaps to crease for more tugboat and pull down the brim? No cigarretes thank you.
Mugsy was always sport'n nice suits and topcoats. He is also my relative stature. Hmmmm...
Amused this evening. Best, Eric-
That is amazing! You're going to give Joao a heart attack.Thank you for the nice feedback on my 5XCB yesterday. Today, I share a hat of joaogantic proportions...
