That hat is so fantastic that it is almost painful to behold.Dermotta Wien date stamped December 1955.

Nice hat, D. And the beard rocks.
Today gray and damp day, only now early afternoon the sun peeked out from the clouds
This hat has one of the most incredible felts among those in my collection
It is soft and almost silk, easy to form but difficult to keep in shape, reminds me of some old Borsalino
Flechet Pilote premier qualité Impermeable. Color is Caniche
Color is another interesting feature that I tried to highlight with photos
The finish is very short and shiny hair (this finish in Italy is called "ferro francese")
Probably made in the fifties or early sixties in France in the Flechet (founded in 1859) facility in Chazelles-sur-Lyon near Saint-Etienne
I want to thank you with my heart for the kind words and appreciation
Have a nice Thursday
Love that Hanover Square Michael. That whole series of Dobbs hats would be a cool collection.Dobbs Hanover Square under the sleet today

Thanks Red. That would be a fun series to have. Your Royal Deluxe today is a beauty. I think the one I wore yesterday or whenever it was recently looks to be about the same age as yours.Love that Hanover Square Michael. That whole series of Dobbs hats would be a cool collection.
Thanks, Matt.Nice hat, D. And the beard rocks.
Like that one Greg! Great ribbon contrast. Gives a nice classy look.

Pretty Cool, Matt! That would also go well with your tie-dye coat. Funky!Been under the weather the last couple of days. Must be the warm-up that's got me down.
Speaking of "weather"... This Weather Hat Company "Pikes Peak" homburg made by the late Art Henderson (I reckon in the '60s) in Colorado Springs, CO was on my doorstep this afternoon. It's a great piece of work.
I purchased the hat in an auction last March. I was a bit nervous about wearing the bold color and it had some condition issues, including what appeared to be dried glue spots on the brim that I couldn't do anything with. I sent the hat out to Bob at Black Sheep. He cleaned up the glue pretty darned well, blocked it, and gave it fresh trim and insides.
I am not dispeased with the results.
Now... Got some pages of hats to catch up on.
Enjoy.
Great look, Michael!Damp day. I think it's supposed to rain some before winter returns tomorrow. Champ Genuine Suede finish

Nice cap Eric, great looking lunch too.Back to cold weather after 2 days of warmer weather finds me feeling more chilled than I should be. I am wearing a wool cap after lunch for the remainder of the day.
Best, Eric -
Nice snap Einars. This is what I am wearing from now on. Moss green Rabbit & Hare Mix fur felt. 14 cm crown, 6.5 cm front brim, sides 6 cm. Copper Grosgrain ribbon, Scandinavian deer skin sweatband. Diamond shaped crown.

I like what you have done with that crown. This is how I would wear one of these types of hats. The fact that it is such a rare bird is also cool.Hey all!
I've never been a huge fan of thin ribbons, but this here Dobbs West Twenty-Five may have just roped me in. Should be a good durable choice for the light rain beginning to fall.
I adjusted the crown and pinch a little, I like it a whole lot more.
Have a great day!

Super nice D. Is that finish on the fuzzy longhair side? The light really picks that up nicely.
