Nice looking crease, I love a tight pinch!Foggy morning here in Alabama and as Christmas nears I decided to wear this Royal Stetson in Hunter Green and a festive Rugby shirt to match.
I steamed this hat with a hand steam unit and did the Indiana Jones crease and pinch. I think it turned out pretty nice. Tonite I’m going to do an old lid and try the Tres Deuce look. Just gotta Watch Kevin, from JJ’s Hats, video again to get that one down.

Huzzah! The Dalton king arises. Love the color combo on this hat Jim.Is that a Cavanagh without a Cavanagh edge?
Ah, ya shoulda saved the Camel for hump day! Nice Gannon.
Great lids so far, gents. Pulled out an old favorite, the Dalton Waverly, for a Tuesday.
Now go out there and have an appropriately adequate day.

Wonderful pictures Matt. I'm a sucker for a nice blue hat. This Dobbs is a beauty, love it!At Jim's recommendation, I'm working hard to have an adequate day. I started it on a field trip to New Kent County near the banks of the lovely Pamunkey river. The blue Dobbs Fifteen joined me on the journey.
Happy day, all. View attachment 98712 View attachment 98713 View attachment 98714 View attachment 98716 View attachment 98717 View attachment 98718

Stefan, Thank you! Yes a wide brim on this one. That's some hat, Steve. They thought big for the American market apparently.
Thanks! Yes also a local (for me) connection.Huckel’s are still my favorite hats. Nice find, I’m originally from Virginia and my Father worked for the Post. So when I saw the store logo I had to look it up. Brings back memories. Thanx for posting.

John, Thank you! The "Lutra" quality distinction goes way back. I think it's finish related because Otters were super rare in Europe. By the way it appears to have a felted edge.Wow!
That thing is beautiful! And my fave hat color!
"Lutra" refers to otter. Is it a finish, or otter fur, or just completely unrelated to otters and means something different in Czech?
Harv, Thanks!Thats gorgeous Steve! Great color!

Thank you! Yes this one is sporty with larger dimensions.Another nice one my friend! I like the full crown and larger brim. You don't see velour hats like that these days; not to mention the vibrant green color, excellent specimen!
Mike, Thank you! It's a more sporty / dressy hat so that would be its place. I think hats like this were accepted here (time period of the hat) for that purpose. That hat is a lot of fun Steve. I wonder how well this style was accepted here in the states?
When I was young I wanted to be a DVM & specialize in large animals, both wild & domesticated. My grandpa had a natural way with animals.Jack I hope it recovered. You gave the local the best opportunity and resources. The raptor centers are able to do incredible things to assist the birds. My wife, now a retired vet., on rare occasion has helped at a local center

Well, if hats made out if otters look like that one, it's no surprise that otters would be rare in Europe!John, Thank you! The "Lutra" quality distinction goes way back. I think it's finish related because Otters were super rare in Europe. By the way it appears to have a felted edge.
