What Hat Are You Wearing Today 1?

Thanks Matt. You are looking pretty snazz in your derby today. The crown on this Howard seems to be right about at 5 1/2". It's maybe a 1/4" or so taller than my Stetson and Willner derbies from the same era. While I was out running errands today I had one older lady give the derby high praise, and then she went on and on about the whole outfit and how it was nice to see somebody that cared about how they looked. Ha ha. I was nearly blushing. (I kid). Then at a second stop the same thing happened with another more middle aged lady. I guess a derby must be a more approachable hat than a fedora.

Funny... I never really thought about it, but I too think that I have more people comment on my derbies, too. Interesting.

I wonder if maybe the narrower brim gives off an openness vibe. Or if they associate the hat with comedy because of Chaplin, Laurel & Hardy, etc...

I bet psychologists have studied how people react psychologically to different hats. Hmmm... Interesting fodder for some pointless weekend research for me.

Hey all!
I converted this Resistol 3XB "Top Rail" from the 70's a while back. Spent some time last night doing a better job of making the brim round and flanging it.

Sorry guys for not having posted for a most of this week. Been awfully busy with work and it has been a dark out dark in situation pretty much all week too. Scrolling through all the pages I've missed I've seen some amazing hats: well done everyone! (I sound like young mr. Grace now). Did manage to take a quick shot today only to find out it's blurry. Added some good ones to the fold I still need to take pictures of, but it doesn't look like weather will permit that this weekend. O well: Flechet Granit today.

Thanks to Short Balding Guy, I picked up another cap today. There’s an Irish store here that stocks Hanna Hats and I have two Hannas already, which I rather enjoy... so got another. Needed one in grey for black suit occasions. Keeping my head warm today.
