Thank you all for the appreciation of the Imperial Stetson.

That is one of the most beautiful hats I've ever seen

I don't wear it too often. It is one of a small number of hats that I keep in its original box. I pee my pants just a little whenever I take it out. The owner of this hat died in 1943 and it stayed with the family for decades afterwards until I purchased it in 2011.

That's definitely a genuine show piece. My day got better just seeing it.

The personal history puts it a few notches up. I can understand the peeism syndrome.

Dated 20Nov1922 Mell's Mell-O-Fit green long hair heather. This hat is a favorite of mine, and I hope you will all enjoy it as well. It normally hides away in a box, but this being the month of it's birth, I figured I'd allow it to see the morning sunrise. Mackinaw is from the c.1920s

That hat a coat are massive! Massive cool Justin. Both make a super statement.

OPS-era Dobbs Cross Country. Hankachif felt. Lighter than a hummingbird fart.

Off to the library in a bit. Think I will need a cap with earflaps today.

Have a very fine Friday,
Michael

It's spirit week at the high school and today is "Dad Day" -- so my favorite English teacher dressed up as her baby daddy:

23213395_10103687024251248_7606619849398054665_o.jpg

Both 40's Stetsons -- St. Regis for her, Whippet for me.
She wears 'em well. You should encourage her more often.

Great hat, great images Fabio.

I haven't posted in this thread for most of the past week as I've mostly been staring at the pine ceiling of my kitchen which is now white, or the walls which are now green, or the... you get the picture.

Anyway, a while back @steur sent me this Habig, in part exchange / part present (he sent two hats) for a Dunn Homburg that was slightly too small for me, slightly too large for him. The Habig is slightly too big for him and was slightly too small for me but I stretched it a hair, and recreased it last evening.

Having now played with it, I think someone trimmed the brim down to 'around' 2.5 inches at some stage. Which is a shame but I love it. It's not a bad job, or noticeable really, It's just a bloody nice comfortable hat.

Yeh, I'm just putting some text between my post and some of the legendary lids above.

That brim...damn, Moon! Is it 3"?

Beautiful. The last image has a tan tint to it. Which is true to color?

Good to hear the stretching worked out. Looks great on you, Mike.
Yes, this one is in line to be a favorite. Fits just right, smooth, supple felt, and the perfect curl. Love this one a lot. Thanks Friend!

"Charles Hatters" with pleated ribbon and trimmed brims
jzv7tg.jpg

The hat is new and comes directly from the large Merano field
avjtyu.jpg

The felt is medium stifness and the finish is excellent

This is a hat made by Vanzina or Borsalino.
Within a few days, we will consider the situation of Charles Hatters

Meanwhile good weekend and thank you for appreciating his brother
Love that tight shark's gill treatment. Nice brim edging too. Very nice Daniele.

I agree about that color. The OR lines with a horse of a different color.

Lots of great Friday hats, everyone looks totally sharp

Great hat Richard, the pinch of the ribbon is kind of cool.

Hey folks!
All this talk of Brents made me want to wear my Brent Airlite.
