Go Go Go Michael! The hat! Mink? The boots... Tell me about the boots and the Woolrich gear. Totally Killer!
Thanks D. The fur is still under debate, though it appears Ewok might be a possibility. I looked at a mink hat today and it's not mink. The boots are Sears Wearmasters. I think they are most likely from the 1950s. The laced bottom Woolrich pants are from the '50s and the jacket from the '60s or 70s. They still make the coat, though it is not manufactured in the US anymore. It was a great bicycling suit today with the temperatures in the upper 30s and about a 15 mph wind setting the windchills in the upper 20s.

Thanks,
Michael

FWIW in trying to determine the critter that died for Michael's cap, this is hair-on cowhide from a wine tote made by Elliot Grace that I found thrifting.

I'm going to put a bottle of good bourbon in it for my brother's Christmas gift, and say "When the guy at the liquor store said that stuff would put hair on your sack he wasn't kidding!"

The only clues to the age on the hat itself aren't particularly helpful... The Regent Street store opened in 1911, the sweat is reeded, the liner is unpleated and thread tacked, and the tag hearkens to an antique era... Pardon my vague observations haha

This may help -- an auction for an Austin Reed top hat with the same liner crest dates their hat at ~1920:
https://www.doeandhope.com/products...d-of-regent-street-in-original-card-box-anm21

And this top hat has the same crest as well and they list the date at ~1930:
http://www.kraveantiques.co.uk/products/Austin-Reeds-Top-Hat.html

And another auction on ebay with I think the same crest on the liner lists their piece at ~1920.

We all know how reliable auction listings are... but it's possible you have a pre WWII lid there.

I love this Regis =) If we're ever i nthe same city, your Regis and my Alessandria need to share a beer.
Thanks for the information Justin. I don't think I'll claim the 20s but you help confirm that it is clearly vintage. The felt is maybe the nicest I've ever had my hands on.

Well suited and the Stratoliner really completes it Samuel
In between the comments (I am not going back to the point where my computer broke down), I'll post my own hats of today. A three hat day, let's call them try outs.

Dunn&Co homburg, generously provided by Karl (Crow). More on that one later in the homburg nation thread.

View attachment 90937

second one was part of the hat-swap with Mike (Redfokker). A wonderful Stephen L. Stetson. More on that one too later.

Third one was part of a hat-swap too, this time with Richard (Morgan). Stetson Railbird (and more on that one too later on).

If I do look a little smug in the pictures it's because there were reasons for it (on my head). Great hats, all of them.
All great hats Stefan

heavily inspired by Alan today I chose this Bantam
