Thanks Red.Mushroom Patrolman Michael! Cool look. Good luck.
I like that Lee. Old school style.I've been helping a theater friend get her house ready for a loan inspection these past few days. It was a plea for help and her theater "family" has been working hard on the little house. The day called for a working straw hat so the Lee Nassau got the job. I think this is an early hat, most likely based on the logo and store logo, mid to late 50s from research.

Thanks Doug. Great looking Champ for you today. The foray was pretty good for species count, not so good for edibles. It was fun.
.
Good luck on your foray, Michael. Looking good in the Stratton!
Thank you all for your well wishes, prayers and condolences. It's all appreciated so much.
Thanks TF. It's been my go to hot weather mushroom hunting hat this summer. As the weather turns to autumn I'll go back to the Stetson Nutria rangers hat.Hey...what a GREAT hat!!

Great images, that beautiful hat is right at home in this setting.Family wedding north of Paris. Wore the light felt Linea Augusta Borsalino sub. I was the only guy wearing a hat. A relative said I looked like someone from Prohibition. I responded that as I was the designated driver, I had to look the part!
I like this one Michael, the brim shape looks so "period". Nice color too. What kind of a liner tip? Are there any clues to the age at all?A few raindrops showing up as I step out to take my photos. Gordon Feature Felt on top,

No idea how old this one is, but it feels old to me. Very thin and dense felt.

That Champ is outstanding!! Is that original ribbon?
Thanks Red. I'm pretty sure it's actually black, but my eyes aren't so good at picking up dark blues anymore. Here are a few interior shots,I like this one Michael, the brim shape looks so "period". Nice color too. What kind of a liner tip? Are there any clues to the age at all?

Surely there's some V.S. DNA mixed in there?Went to services under Grandma Anna's Royal Stetson.

Boy, what a fantastic sweat on this one. I looked for the original store in an online search and turned up a newspaper ad from 1959, the business directories only go back to 1950 at the Iowa Genealogical Society. Very cool. Thanks Red. Looks great, TJ. I have enjoyed reading and seeing your conversions.Love the collection of fine lids this Sunday morning. Everyone's looking great. Wearing my latest conversion this morning. Finally got it done. Something of an OR conversion with a Cattleman crease finished off with a 3 ply thin ribbon with a campaign style bow. I have more pics in the conversion corral. I have to say that the pictures come no where near close to doing this hat justice. The camera moved a little so the picture of me looks a little blurry.
Some Johnny Cash this A.M.
Thanks Red. I have found ads for Enderlein Clothing going back to 1919 and Gordon and Ferguson were making hats by 1897. I took a peak at the label under the sweat and parts of it are handwritten. I didn't want to risk getting a photo of it. Sadly the Gordon thread here at FL has suffered from the photobucket failure.Boy, what a fantastic sweat on this one.
