The one I want is the original "redder" Black Cherry, Fed. When it was first made, I'm pretty sure it was a Fawcett exclusive. It then became readily available, went away, came back and now is gone again.

I have a Bob Jesse western in the darker version, also nice, but it's the original I'm lusting after at the moment.

Cheers! David
Ah, I had it completely backwards. Maybe it will come back again shortly....

That won't last long.

Congratulation, Charlie. Mama doing OK, I hope.

Tough choice, but I vote the RD.

PB Milan for a Tuesday.

Sent directly from my mind to yours.
That's what I decided to go with Jim. Great Peter Bros milan you were wearing today.

Why choose? Just have a two hat day!
I got hit by the lazy today and stayed at home all day. So the Stetson was plenty of hat for the day. But I'm sure the Mallory will be seeing some action soon.

first world problems of a hat crazy. Stetson gets my vote, but that Mallory is da bomb as well.
Yes, problems of the hat crazy. Or is that more properly crazy hat people? The Stetson won today. I'm liking that hat a lot lately.

Thanks all,
Michael

Yes Red,this is the original black cherry color.

One of my favorites, I have two hats in this felt, and I'm also sad that it isn't currently made. I actually was in Michael Gannon's line to have him make me an Open Road black cherry but he couldn't get the felt body.

Anyway, on a warm evening, I'm enjoying my VS Milan.

I'll keep hoping for a non-black cherry with some color. Love the milan.

View attachment 82379 In my classroom during recess.
Hats are your "play", perfect for recess. Nice lid.

If you still want that BC OR from Michael Gannon you might check in with him again. I see a BC "Rodolfo" for sale on his new webpage that looks like the older, darker "black" black cherry felt. I'm tempted to have a 2nd one made as I like both colors an awful lot.
I begged and was rebuked by Winchester's current dye barrels. I'll just wait until the true cherry appears again.

I like it more every day. I got this Stetson and a nice, but dirty, post WWII-early 50s Champ (posted on the Champ thread and the Naptha bath thread). Both are 7-3/8 Long Oval and fit like a custom. Very nice, as that's not always the case. This one had some dirt but no stains and is a real sweetheart. I might just give it a naptha bath tomorrow morning and see how much more the blue undertones might pop out. No one notices the dirt but me, though....
I'm real happy you're happy! And certainly glad they went to a great home!

I just love both flavors of the black cherry. I wish I could grab one with the darker/blacker black cherry while they're available now.... I know Rodolfo has both... arg!

After a very slow boat ride cross country by FedEx (12 days from end of auction...), my Stetson St. Regis gray homburg arrived today. I am very happy, other than this is the tightest, small 7 1/4 on earth. I popped it on right out of the box and had to do a double take on the size, I thought it was a 7! Off to Mike Miller's in the morning for a stretch and a LO treatment. Still, this is a great homburg, once it is my size, sure to get some major head time. Pictures in appropriate threads when I get the images processed.

I have to, one is more red, and the second one is darker, closer to Ox Blood I will say.

I love both but the darker one may be more "conventional".
