Knox Twenty. Early 40's, I think - but I'm not good at dating.

Thanks so much! The suit is interesting - definately a sailor influence, with an over the shoulder capelet-thing. There are two bluckle cinches - one at each waist, the suit is lined in satin, and the material is a nubby silk. There are multiple pockets and covered buttons. I'm assuming this is a war-time suit. There is a department store label on the inside. If anyone is interested, I'll scan it in. I should also take another picture of that hat. It is very interesting and I've never seen another like it.
The other hat is interesting as well. I purchased it at the Manhattan Vintage Clothing Expo last Friday. On inspecting it closely, I believe that it's a construction of three different hats pieced together. On the other hand, it could simply be a hat that was never used. But I really don't think so. I think the dealer's wife got creative and did a great job on taking parts of hats that were good and assembling them: liner, base of felt, overlay of felt, and overlay of newer ribbon with a beaded oversize buckle embellishment. I really like it, and the dealer came down on the price also. Very very nice people to deal with. I was happy to purchase from such nice people. And thinking it over, all the dealers I met were incredibly nice throughout the afternoon.
