Man, it didn't cool off last night, even with fans in the windows. I didn't sleep all night, terrible headache, buddy in FL says we are making the news there...

I just bought a portable AC unit online from a local store, 58 good reviews, from Lowe's, which opens in 35 minutes. I'm headed there in 25.... Peace out!!!

I feel you, my friend. My oldest daughter just turned 17. Broke my heart a bit. Happy to see her grow and mature, but missing those young playful days as well. We still do a lot together, but I know college is right round the corner. Children are a treasure.

I resigned my office position in May, and have been recklessly spending my savings on hats, etc, but I've been spending a lot of quality time with my daughter and buying her things she needs/wants. My Dad was very thrifty having grown up in the Depression. But he lost most of his retirement account to scheister account managers ($600k to $180k in 18 months). I'm spending money on my daughter now while I still can; screw the money managers.

These last 3 months with her has been marvelous. Last night she was called to be the 1st counselor to the president of her youth group. I'm so proud of her. She has a autism spectrum disorder that makes her very easily overwhelmed by external stimuli and everything she does is a proactive effort to step forward and be who she wants to be. :D (proud papa)

Thanks hato, but as you may know, we are quite partial to hemp in my neck of the woods...:)
Your hemp looks great on you, btw.
Yeah, if I get tired of this one I can always smoke it...
Yeah, she's turning 17 on the 4th. Hope you have a Happy Birthday as well!
Thanks Fed. I'm only about half a century older than your daughter. Are you giving her a hat for her birthday?

Looking sharp as usual Michael. The weave on that Stetson is nice.
Thanks Red

Glad you had a wonderful trip... glad you are safe back home. You look great in that hat!

Very good look there, Michael, with the Stetson (especially) and that sweet little Ecuadorian straw!

Just take the heat from us. It got hot fast this morning. Got back inside by 10:30 and it was already 91F... headed to 108F. I thin I'll go get a coke at the local McD's and hang there in the A/C goodness with my laptop.

Good choice on the lid, it's the BGCD, right? I love the creases you put on your lids!

Look at all you guys from Cali wearing felt! We are solid into straw hats, shade and/or A/C here in Oregon!

I took my daughter to breakfast and then errands and a fresh peach milkshake! for her B-day... which is Friday but we'll be in Seattle for a wedding and Lil' Fed is staying down here with friends and other family for her bday weekend festivities. I gave her another hat... well, technically, her Mom did and there goes another straw hat out the door!

I wore my Wormser Milan this a.m., but it is getting too hot too fast today. My (in)AccuWeather says it's now 97F and 107F is the newly forecasted high. Blech. I need felt weather, fast!

Thanks Doug. Great B-day hat for Lil' Fed and the Wormser milan is da bomb.

Great hat Perry, and very spiffy shirt.

Not a bad morning here, may rain later. Going with this Stetson Royal Deluxe mode edge for my weekly grocery shopping.

That Gomez Panama is one of my favorites here this summer. It must be so comfortable!

Stetson Twenty - Five Open Road.

Needs a gas bath to remove a dirt line that would not steam & brush out. Not worried about a crease now but thinking I like a center crease with big dents, worn brim up. The brim does have a nice cup flange to it.
Nice OR HJ! After your restoration is should be a real stunner! Classic.

Hey all. Biltmore 2" brim Milan in black.

You always look so sharp D! Nice and cool with the black Milan. Love that tie!

These beauties you trot past us are all just stunning. Again, the liner and sweat are as big of a treat as the lines of the hat. Love that logo and it's detail. Nice.

Cool looking Panama and snappy shirt Perry, you are set for the day.

Another 100+ day is in store for us. I'll be out early for a few errands and then retreating to the Hat Room for some felt therapy in the cool house. We have it set for 71 degrees and it was struggling yesterday to keep up. I hop the AC unit will be some relief. It will be in the 90s for the next 10 days or so. Sux.

Congratulations to Lil'Fed, you have every reason to be a proud papa.

Modern Excellent Quality Stratoliner (in caribou).

Sent directly from my mind to yours.
It is excellent indeed Jim. How is the felt, my Modern Strat in this grade is actually quite nice. Moon did me good on that one.

Looking sharp Karl, the lines are just right on that Panizza.

Love the Stetson. The felt just looks so supple and touchable based on that great looking crease! Nice.

LOL, I gave her 4 hats... a Knox Tom 'n' Jerry that has the best lightweight felt I've ever handled, a heathered felt Royal Stetson, a nice "hipster" Panama hat we got for her when we were in Ecuador.... oh, and we got her a handmade blouse from Ecuador, too.

Going somewhere nice Karl?
just arrived in Watford, famous for a football club Elton John used to own and the bit of MGM studios that Harry Potter was made in, so tomorrow Harry Potter, then on to central London for a few overpriced days. Maybe we'll bump into usain bolt, and he can refund me the premium he's added to hotel costs this weekend.

Sounds like fun? Going to stay a "spell" at the Harry Potter studio?
