Looks good damp. Sharp.

Cap day!
Trying that "new" vintage leather coat I bought last week.

Nice looking cap and that looks like some heavy suede in the jacket.

A lot of roll in the brim on that one. I like it.

I don't wear this Dobbs poly enough. I like the blue. It goes with my new shirt from my Haberdasher's big sale last week. Dropped a C-note and got $471 worth (4 new shirts). I also got one to go with my rust colored pug on my NW Panama.

I like my Dobbs poly for it's indestructibility. Being imperivious to sweat damage makes it a good choice for hot weather bike riding. That and it's tight fit.

Very cool look today, Michael. If I didn't know better... I'd say you're King of The (OR) Road!
Thanks Doug. I'm not much of an open road fan in the one sense as I seldom venture even 5 miles from my house. And in the other sense there are far better collections than mine around here. They are a nice hat to wear for sure.

Nice combo, stay cool.
Thanks Mike. That is a great looking shirt you picked up on sale. Can't wait for the other 3 to show up here.

Thanks all,
Michael

I'm all about the high thread count paja toquilla straw from Ecuador. The more I learn and experience the art, the handmade wonder that goes into these hats, the more I yearn for a paja toquilla that looks more like linen than straw. But there's something to be said for an inexpensive, open market 2nd that you don't have to worry about, and yet it still wears light and cool and looks great.

That's the story with this one. Some older ladies wanted 2 for $50. We haggled, me in my broken Spanish, and MrsFed with her keen shopping techniques, and got them down to $34, plus a few hard candies I had in my shirt pocket, LOL.

I wore this first to the beach. At 79F and windy, everyone was cold except me and the Misses. But the humidity read 100%! By the time I got back to home base, this one had popped a vertical line in the front crown. No matter! What character! What class! Paja toquilla for the masses, LOL!

Today I reached for the boater shelf and selected a fine plaited straw from Knox. But I couldn't help swapping head time for a new arrival from Australia.

Very nice, Alan. I came across some Cuenca straw caps on my recent trip to Ecuador. What material is used in the making of your most recent Australian acquisition?
