Thanks! You know, I had never considered pecan colored felt until I saw Red's hat in person, just before Mike put the liner in. As soon as I saw it, I said "that's it, make me one of those!"That's one clean and beautiful lid. Love it.

Thanks AZ. Come to think of it, I never measured the original open crown height before I converted it. I reblocked it on a fairly straight sided 5 3/4 block. It's a nice taller crown height for a fedora. As creased, it's 4 3/4 at the pinch with a rake sloping to 4 1/4 at the back. Also as creased, the crown is just barely under 5 inches at the highest points. So, it's fairly tall.Beautiful conversion! Did you extend the crown at all?

I was really looking forward to warmer weather but it's looking pretty overcast today. =\

Don't know if this tells you anything. I'm curious as to what decade this is from. As I wrote in another post that the store name Baskin is on the sweat. View attachment 75367 View attachment 75368

One of the nicest semi-colados I've seen, David. Really special Ecuadorian straw.Well, it's Fawcett Friday and going to be close to 100F - only one hat will work.
Cheers! David
Eventually, all things merge into one, and a river runs through it. The river was cut by the world’s great flood and runs over rocks from the basement of time. On some of the rocks are timeless raindrops. Under the rocks are the words, and some of the words are theirs.
