Thanks cks! An incorrigable thrift store junkie here. most everything I wear besides socks and skivvies (and ebay hats) is usually from them.Love it Moehawk! Especially anything that can be found in a thrift store. Had my straw out last week but today and over past weekend had to go back to felt! Came through Canaan Valley yesterday (Sunday) and still snow up on high ridge of Caban Mountain. brrrr!
Tissue weight Portis.
Show stopper hat and pants! Go for it the dye job would be just right!
It came with a teardrop but was so dusty probably having sat on a closet shelf for yrs. I pushed it out to an open crown, then brushed & vacuumed until I gave up. A wk or so later I gave it a naphtha bath & after it air dried I put a teardrop back in it. I love the color & since it is dimensionally the smallest hat I have, I like the teardrop also.Jack, I am such a Portis fan and am happy to have the one I have. I like the color and the shape on yours. Did it come with that crease, or did you tweak it? Silly question, I guess.
Thanks for your remarks on the Resistol. I'm lucky enough to have two of these 25's, though today's is of a more recent vintage and in great shape.
Thanks Robert. Hope the Tilley kept you dry this morning. We took a miss on the rain here. The Peters Bros was looking good for the afternoon.Great outfit.
Thanks D. I have a white silk jacket that might be a better candidate for a dye.Show stopper hat and pants! Go for it the dye job would be just right!

Cuz, if you're ever down this end of the road, I got plenty enough front porch to share. The house was built in '21, nice big ones were pretty standard back then. I love sittin' out here with a cool one and watching the world.Mighty fine, Cuz. I'm dreaming of when I can do the same. No front porch to speak of but I did have a rear deck that lies in pieces in the back yard. Waiting on the contractors to return to finish that job so I can do a little back porch sittin.
I miss the 12' X 40' front porch I once sat and played upon.
With side dents.
Sent directly from my mind to yours.

Nice n "toasty"Hey folks!
Sun is out and the breeze is calm. Wearing this windy-day project Panama that I found (in much rougher shape) at a thrift store weekend before last. Finished it the day before yesterday, but wind prevented it's debut. Not sure what the color is exactly, but copper comes to mind. Or perhaps something in the Umber family.
Something a little different from the usual.
Have a great day!

You kno you did good. This is a Royal Stetson I got off EBay and just arrived today. Every Stetson I own is big on me. This sez 7 but fits like a 7 1/8. Oh yeah, $16 plus $10 for shipping. Did I win or what??? Open crown so how should I shape this one? Advise, Over.
