Midweek, mid-ribbon. Dalton.
The Duke is back.
I'm right there with ya' Fruno. Over the years my forehead has become a fivehead, and with my pale complexion the glare can be blinding on a sunny day.Not in my case. The more of my face I can cover, the better. Especially for the viewer.
New guy but been reading the FL for a while, and was wearing some of my hats today before it starts being 115 F everyday.
I don't quite have the budget or ebay luck yet to snag myself some nice fur felts, but these wools do the job well enough for me.
Yessss!Cold, rainy and windy morning. The new Mallory will be the around the house and yard wear today.

But I'm actually geared up for a bicycle ride in said weather and haven't decided if a beret, flat cap or waxed cotton will be accompanying me on that portion of the day.

There could be enough of the wet that I'm throwing some Helly Hansen into the pack.
Enjoy the Wednesday,
Michael
+1We can always count on you for a "something you don't see everyday" addition... thanks for that, Steve.
Thanks Red. The binding/ribbon color does play well with the felt color. I like it.Looking great this morning my friend. That brim treatment on the Mallory almost looks like a halo. Neat color combo.
Thanks Wesslyn.Yessss!
Very nice. Is it the Acorn Fawn or the Bluegrass Green model?Akubra Stylemaster this Wednesday.

OR for me today.
How could anyone not love the lines of an Open Road?!

Charlie, Thanks! I agree. Usually such hats have a lower profile. Also the partial Optimo crease is unique. This one's DIFFERENT. I like it!!!
LOVE. This one was on the bay for a while, no?The arrival of a new hat always picks one up. My Churchill Lord's Hat was on the doorstep this afternoon. It appears to be NOS, beautiful felt, smooth and clay like. I have bee wanting a true "Lord's Hat" for a while, fished this one out of the bay. I now have to look up that old Churchill thread to post it in.

It has been off and on, I submitted an offer which was accepted. Three days later, in my hands.LOVE. This one was on the bay for a while, no?
I'm your man in you ever decide to sell. 7 1/2? ;-)To be completely honest, I'm not a huuuuge fan of its cut and crease. A little more taper than I like, and a dimensionally cut brim. I just love the fit and felt.
That's what happened to me! :-DFor now they do, but if you hang around here long enough you might catch the bug and after that never have a budget again that you don't spend on hats (it's a terrible addiction but causes no bodily harm). Welcome (run while you still can...)
7 1/4 actually!I'm your man in you ever decide to sell. 7 1/2? ;-)
