Happy Easter everyone!!! I went to brunch this morning where my surrogate daughter is the manager. I had chorizo burritos with scrambled eggs and bearnaise sauce and a glass of OJ. I wore my Huckel Fedora, which is my favorite hat. As a matter of fact I'm willing to trade my Stetson Pinnacle 100% beaver for some Huckel.

I wanted to participate in the joyous welcome to our returning Comrade-in-Hats Mr. Barnes, but Easter Sunday obligations prevented me from doing so until now. It's still Sunday here on the west coast of the U.S., so it counts, right?

Unfortunately this old Winston Fedora-turned-Pork Pie is the closest thing I have to a Homburg, so it will have to suffice. If it doesn't, Mea Culpa, but, y'know, it's...I...ummm, I mean...oh screw it, here's a lousy picture of me in a hat, braving the late-afternoon sun with my fish-belly-white complexion.

So welcome back Matt! Your absence was noticeable, and it's good to have your positive energy back here to inspire us. And Happy Easter to those who celebrate, and also to those who don't; I much prefer being all-inclusive.

Looking good Zombie man. Isn't pasty white rather a requirement of the zombie trade?

A great homburg heavy batch of hats today. I hope all who observed the holiday had a fine one, and everyone enjoyed their Sunday. I sported a newly acquired vintage Stetson straw, and my oldest daughter wore her new Easter hat while hunting eggs earlier.

Thank you kindly Gents! Truth be told, I'm aware the crown is too short and too tapered for my enormous cranium, but I really like the hat and it fits like a fur felt watch cap, so I wear it and enjoy it anyway.

Yes, I suppose it is; the "experts" call it "Pallor Mortis". But I think I have my Irish/Scottish/English/German ancestors to thank for it.

There's something rather biblical about that fine set of whiskers that you have grown. I wore a beard for almost 40 years, it was for the sake of vanity, I did it to cover the mole on my chin. Come advancing years and my beard turned silver, I shaved it off. Vanity again, I preferred the mole over the Santa beard.
