A great Tuesday in Hatopia! So many lids I can't keep up and the day's only half over.

@FedOregon, nice Disney, but let's see a new shot! Great archive pic, though.

Rain moved through Funkytown this morning. It's cleared up now and I tackled walkabout in my BGGCD.

Sorry if I missed anybody. Great lids, all.
Sent directly from my mind to yours.

Sweet lid for walkabout, Jim!

I tried for a new shot today when I went for a walk earlier, but the new screen cover MrsFed got for my phone was covering the lense of my camera phone... so here's a crummy pic at my deksk in yellowish indoor lighting.

The hat looks black on my screen, but it's a nice dark navy felt with triple-stitched overwelt brim.

The stitching on this rare hat is really cool. Quite a find.
Thanks Mike, your homburg is a real gem!

Very cool, Daniele. Thank you for sharing so many beautiful and interesting hats!
Thanks Doug, I'm doing my best to keep high some "different made" hats

These stitched hats are very cool Daniele. A very sporting look. Does it make the shape firm?
Michael when I bought these two hats I think of you. In my mind I think they are a interesting component in your attire.
Yes they take firmly the shape. Borsalino better, it is very well made in way that now seems impossible in modern hats prduction. "La Familiare" Tuscan made has in the front of the pinch a plastic conformer, even if without it has a good shape.
I will show them in the next days with appropriate pictures

Great pair of stitched hats @Daniele Tanto. Those are real gems.
Thanks Jim! They are the mirror of that time!

Dropping by to drop off. Today the temperature may hit the high 70s, or even 80 F, possibly breaking the 1950s record for this date. So to prepare I went back to the yet unopened straw boxes, and found my Cavanagh Milan. A Milan marvel!!

Charlie I like the Cavanagh Milan very much and I see you look better than a few months ago.
More relaxed, so to complete the scene the right soundtrack

Thanks for the likes and comments on the new JC Penney hat. I've never been in a JC Penney store but I might have had good reason to go back in the day.

This is the most "european" hat produced in US I saw in the last years.
Very interesting to see how hats producers tried to intercept the market tastes

Seems in the pre-WWII years the style divide between us was smaller. Perhaps more first generation transplants?

I like the hat, but the waistcoat really rocks too.

Thanks... a recent take away from a visit with my Dad. I think it was a sample prototype from a friend of my Mom's that was likely never produced. I remember a lot of sample trading in the NYC garment center showrooms. I used to think that was what everyone did most of the work day.
