this is a shape that I can never quite achieve
Man, that's beautiful...
Super "new" hat Alan. What's the age estimate?
PM sent Michael. Thanks for the info Bob. My hat doesn't seem to have anything besides the tag which just has some codes, Eleganza and the brim width of 2 3/8". One number I guess could be construed as a date code - 0498, but that is just a guess.
Michael
Maybe.I am positive it has seen worse.

Perfect look Charlie!
[emoji14]Thanks Harv!
I hope I did the hashtag right, though. We're supposed to tweet others the way we want to be tweeted ourselves...
Ha! Yup. It's definitely tall and straight! Just the way a lot of us like them! Just re-watched one of my favorite classic film noir movies last week, "Murder My Sweet" (1944), with Dick Powell and Mike Mazurki. Talk about tall crowns and wide brims! Not everybody can pull off the tall crowns, but a big guy like Mazurki could...(check out that classic '40s Whippet style lid he's wearing in this scene.)!I just love this look! My next custom is going to have one of those two foot tall crowns.
Kuki, I like the frames you chose. The bow was out again today... and new (and first ever) glasses, will be ready next Wednesday.

Another of my favorite Film Noir movies was, "Out Of The Past" (1947), with Robert Mitchum and Kirk Douglas. Here's a tall crown wide brimmed thin ribbon. Gotta love these movies!
Guys back in the day knew how to wear hats!
I agree Charlie! I'm still wearing my new BSVS a lot but I'm going to have some green on later today, maybe with a green shirt. Wouldn't want to get pinched!Blue smoke is an excellent, versatile color. Pairs perfectly with many options
He was a pretty big guy. Gotta be large enough to wear it!Ndever mind Mazurki's hat, I want that jacket!
Wish I had his straight posture & big chest.Ndever mind Mazurki's hat, I want that jacket!
