Just finished up another conversion. This is a Resistol Stagecoach in Silverbelly. It's the very same dimensions as the brown one I did, tall crown and 2 3/4 brim. I went with a thin ribbon and a campaign style bow...I'll post more pics later in the Conversion Corral.

Very nice! Looks just like my Akubra Federatidon Deluxe with the Raiders pinch. However, I noticed my ribbon is a very dark brown and not black.

Unfortunately, the best way to learn such things is trial and error. And the errors often really suck. But you don't do that the next time. Hope it wasn't one of your better ones.
I'm not sure it ever came with a black ribbon if you ordered one of the brown hued felts (i.e., Tawny Fawn, Heritage Fawn, Dark Brown). The ribbon on my Dark Brown Fed IV is darker than the ribbon on my Tawny Fawn, but in the right light you can see it's brown and not black.
