Fabulous hat, Esther!
That's a stunningly beautiful hat, Alan. That bow treatment is wonderful, and exactly what I want duplicated on my next custom.
That's a sharp lid
Nice Adam, Bob!
Adamn nice Adam, Bob!!
Yes definitely my cup of tea!Thank you Steve... not everyone's cup of tea, but I know you would enjoy this.
Lovely color and ribbon treatment. You look pensive, I like it.
Thank you, Alan. That's a great picture. I have wondered why other hats don't have both sides of the bow the same, with 2 split "wings" on each side. This picture is perfect... just what I have been envisioning in my mind. Thanks Fed... I hope I've given you and your hatter enough to go on. If not, let me know.
Nice, Perry!

A hat this nice offsets any residual goofyness Matt. You are excused. Thanks for all of the kind words about the new Borsalino.
Today I was running late (and looking a bit goofy) under ye ol' brown Premier Vita-Felt.

That black is so deep and picks up the available light nicely. The basting stitches on the cool looking ribbon are a great feature to this ancient beauty. A real teaching moment. From the bounty of my black hat collection, here is an old Vanzina that might perhaps be a rare example of the work of this manufacturer before their absorption into Borsalino during or after the depression. The style has a tall crown and narrow brim, an alpine flavor which reflects the location of the retailer in Brunico, a southern Tyrolean city in Italy within 20 kilometers of the Austrian border. The basting thread that protects the ribbon and elaborate bow remains in place. I don't believe this hat was ever sold to or worn by a consumer. Daniele might have additional thoughts/information.
A purist would require you to give it a brushing. Call it patina. My "Robert Jordan" Stetson Whippet-lookalike today. I took some new pics:

It really is pretty dusty. I guess it could use a cleaning . . . but I sort of like it the way it is.
This thread keeps me sane, I'm still working nights, get in at about six am, always check the what hat thread. Last week I had a couple of nights off, we went to a very special wedding on Friday. The MG looked resplendent decked out in wedding ribbons. Here's
The whole hat is extraordinary, but that double layered bow... that's the cherry on top of the sundae. From the bounty of my black hat collection, here is an old Vanzina that might perhaps be a rare example of the work of this manufacturer before their absorption into Borsalino during or after the depression. Super nice OR Rick. With the name in the front of the sweat, does that give a clue to vintage?Stetson Twenty Open Road
