"From Albiñana headgear, congratulations to Cristina and the rest of the finalists and participants. Once again we are delighted by the great excitement and interest that has awakened this seventh edition, as well as the large number of reports received. In this edition, as in previous ones, the jury had a hard job choosing the winning story. We want to make mention and very special thanks to the members of the jury for your selfless work. Of course, we would also like to thank all those who have participated in this seventh edition. Now to enjoy the reading of the finalists' stories, that through the year will be published in the blog, and start to think of a story for the eighth edition of the contest."

Something like that, anyway. ;)
Great thanks!

Yes... terribly boring.
NOT!

The bow is very cool. Is that underlying fabric a rose color?

Everyone else is still asleep. So I'm taking the opportunity to abscond with my circa 1944 or so teal Dobbs Game Bird. Lack of presence is a great way to avoid household chores.

This is the second of the three hats that the Missouri gentleman entrusted to me after his father passed on from this life. Similar heathered texture as the 1930s green Dobbs, but the felt quality is not quite as extraordinary. The brim treatment on this makes me happy.

Thanks for all of the kind words about both the Garfinckel's homburg and Dobbs yesterday. Y'all are a bunch of good eggs.

I "Bergen" Friday under the Bergen Hatter's "WhatInTheHeckKind'OHatBeDat" (at least that's what I'm calling it until I can get off my duff and hopefully discover the stylistic origins of this thing).

Merry Friday!!!

P.S. This is one that I'm considering bringing along into eternal perdition.

Good morning. Outside early with the dogs in a new to me vtg. Stetson Open Road. This is a Royal De Luxe Open Road of the early 50's.

The felt is a blue/gray. More blue shows in this mornings cold cloud covered sky. Not all felt is created equal and this may be my most "clay-like". It is a thinner felt than my OR 25's or even that special 3X. This fedora, gray,is much bluer than my other OR. A very interesting color.

It is a hat that is a puzzler. The hat is pristine in that it is clean and generally unmarked. It was worn, but not hard or frequently. This hat shows a couple of small moth nibbles. I suspect that a brief brush with very fine sandpaper would smooth the 2 spots out. I will consider that, but put some wear on the hat first.

Thanks for letting me share my vtg.Stetson Royal De Luxe Open Road.
