It might be a Capybara. I've had fireroasted Capybara a couple of times while out of country. Not bad with a dipping sauce of your choice & if you don't think about it as eating a rodent.

Capybara is similar but can be much larger. Definitely another rodent, I hear they are more popular in Venezuela.

Here's some cuy for sale at the market in Cuenca, Ecuador.

Back on topic, they're calling for rain again, so I'm wearing my Stratton western that Mike At NW Hats converted to a form fitted Outback style hat for me.

I can't resist to wear a G.B. Borsalino fu Lazzaro "San Remo" of my last find

It was made for the US market since it has the size 7 1/2.

Clearly it is not from the thirties, the body has an old label hitched and a new one over

Qualità Speciale. Color is "Dattero" as the one restored in BSHW, one of my favourite colors of Borsalino

It came from the seventies and the felt is medium thick and very peachy

With this G.B. Borsalino fu Lazzaro continues the enigmatic history of a brand that appears and disappears after that in 1936 the "rebels" of the Borsalino family have been tamed

Thanks Mike. Good fortune found this hat making it's home at my house. It is pristine and really build my appreciation for vtg. hats. As to the brim, I suspect you are similar, as with with more hat wearing time I find I can wear almost all brim widths. All brim widths matter!

Yes, & Brazil. In Rio de Janeiro street vendors cut strips & roll them in rock salt, then cook them over a very hot fire in a hibachi type grill. It melts & carmelizes the rock salt. They tell foreigners it tastes like pork tenderloin. It's the other white meat.
