As for the camellias... They start blooming every January and continue into early April. It was definitely a nice and unexpected winter surprise when we first moved in a few years ago. It's quite a treat to see a beautiful, vibrant blossom with snow on it. Who'd 'f thunk it??? From what I understand, they are a hardier Japanese cultivar.

Yeah... 2016 seemed so bad that it was absurd. And bad in important "lifey" ways, not political garbage. One of the best ways for me to deal with absurdity is to laugh like hell at it. But I must say that while it was a terrible year in many, many ways... I learned a lot and grew a lot (despite evidence to the contrary [emoji6]). Those are good things.

Here's hoping that neither I, nor anyone else, will feel compelled to get a "17SUCKD" plate at the end of this year.

I don't think it's been worn enough to soften noticeably. My BGG is pretty soft. This is stiffer than that but softer than my SBCD. I'll have to give it more wear to see how that goes.
