As you can see my "wheelie bar" (platform) was doing it's job. The steering in the creek was pretty ineffective with the light front end though. Hope your Grandfather survived that accident! It can be pretty scary at times -- can't imaging experiencing a flip or watching it.

Aw Yeah , He survived . It was terrifying for me , him , and the others there . But it was , sort of slow mo , and he was riding it out (no matter what , obviously) , it landed on top of him with his chest pinned under the hood of the Tractor , thus , "S*** !" I don't think he even went to the Dr that day , can't say later though . He was TOUGH ! I think he was older than me then too . Glad your wheelie bar worked , when the front end comes up it gets exciting at times . That's why they make weights .

How's your liver...?
You might find it hard to believe, but I just got a full check up, liver is perfect, no cholesterol problems at all, nothing bad, nothing to be warned, my doctor, who is a very good friend of mine, blames it on genetics !!!

See in my family you either die old, older than 85 and most times you reach the 90's, or you die doing something crazy, I had my share of craziness already, so I guess I am headed for another 40 good years, and other than scars and broken bones I just need to get a second surgery on a knee that I destroyed about 10 years ago .

Welcome back, Celia. Glad you had safe travels. You were missed.
Thanks, I missed you guys too. Unfortunately my return got delayed because I had to go to a funeral and then I got ill. Not quite the holiday I'd hoped for, but glad I could be there with family when it mattered. And glad to be back here too.

Classy Homburg Celia! I've been fussing with the side dents on my black Knox as well. Trying to go more toward the front of the crown like yours. Looking good!!
Thanks! I do prefer them a bit more to the front, but that's mainly because I think it suits my face better. I may try the hat without side dents at all next time... Just goes to show the homburg's more versatile than it gets credit for :)

Groan...

All day Hat-tiquing in Indianapolis - unsuccessfully, I might add. Not a darn thing. However, I did pick up a sweet Irish tweed over coat and a nice sport coat for myself. (sigh) I'll never turn a profit this way...

Found this, but I wasn't going to pay $145 for it. Pretty cool, tho.

$145? Ouch, no thank you. Pretty cool though. Better luck next time! Great hat as ever.

Woah, now that looks like a good night!

Was warm enough for shirt-sleeves today (ice storm coming Friday) so I did a bit of wood hauling. My wife snapped this pic while I was wearing my Amish straw. She did not snap a pic of the tractor gymnastics I was doing on the other creek bank. Probably need to work on the road on that side ...

That is such a cool picture! Hope you and the tractor made it out of there alive and well!

Very nice. That cap really suits you, not everyone has the face for them.

Hey everyone!
Many thanks for the likes and kind words on recent posts.
Today I'm wearing this Resistol 3X beaver "Top Rail" that I converted a while back. Also the first wearing of this like new Avirex G1 goatskin that I found in a thrift store a couple days ago. The color on this jacket looks deep deep dark brown in some lighting situations, black in others. Fits like a glove!

Have a great day!

Sent from thin air using electricity and other wizardry.

Very nice shape and colour, I really like the slightly paler ribbon.

The other day a hat I made from a FEPSA 2X quality felt.
I call it the EC (Encarnado Custom).

Nice work! I'm amazed at how many people here have hat making skills.

In person it appears to my eyes to be more olive than the photos pick up.
