Cold, windy and getting windier. Rosemont Wool felt that I got for a buck, because if it blows off I won't be chasing it into traffic.

I think it's actually quite an old hat, has a much decayed but real leather sweat.

Now I'm off to the vintage button store seeking a replacement button for my coat.

Seems like most of the usual suspects are showing up. Is it time for the lineup?

Michael
I like your coat Michael, good luck with the button.

Hello all FL hat lovers. I've been a bit out of sorts lately. MrsFed is home and I'm cheerfully thankful for that. But my troubles with the peptic ulcer/gastritis keeps flaring up. Thursday, 3 hours mid-day. Friday, about 2am - 10am, followed by a doc visit at 2pm. Quite A-OK on Saturday, and then a mega-event Sunday from 1am - 7am... and a trip to the ER to get it all back under control, complete with IV injections of pepcid and morphine.

I feel ok today with prescription doses of Prilosec but no more NSAIDs (Advil, Motrin, etc (ibuprofen) and Aleve (naproxen sodium) for my chronic pain so I'm juggling pain management between my meager supplies of prescription meds and a doc that is now on vacation.

And.... back to work. Good grief, what a day. Anyway, I've been switching between grabbing my NW Hats conversion of the Stratton western, and my LL Bean/Stetson Moose River hats. Too tired, pained, etc, to go looking in my "hat room" for something more stylish. But I promise to improve! I've been wearing my western boots because it's easier to slide on some boots than it is to tie my shoe lace with the pain in the gut I've been having.

I still love seeing the wonderful hats all of you have been posting the last few days. Some real stunners out there!

It tried to snow last night, but nothing significant. Now it's supposed to be coooooooooooolllld and clear. The sun is out now. Weird weather.

Have a great day FL faithful!
Feel better my friend.

Purposely did NOT hit the "Like" button on this post, Doug....

I've also been down the road you're on, (IbuProfen for back pain, and Prilosec for the kishkes) and my heart goes out to you. It's all a delicate balance, and hard to master, even for the physicians. My personal gripe about the wonders of Prilosec is that it's difficult-to-impossible to wean yourself off of it without more tummy troubles; especially if you've been taking it for an extended period of time. Even then, it's a tapering off, not cold turkey. I ended up in the emergency room with a bleeding ulcer two weeks after my primary care guy recommended I discontinue the Prilosec. Larry The Cable Guy didn't warn me about that!!

Please feel better!!

That's what happened to me last summer. I tried to wean off the Aleve, Prilosec, etc., and ended up in the ER with the same thing... only it was a bit worse the first time. Thank heavens mine hasn't been bleeding, but it sure feels like it!

Much better today, and thank for the well wishes from you and everyone else. I love the FL and you guys and gals make it especially grand.

Hope you get better soon. Try Tylenol for the pain, as it's a non-NSAID drug. Assuming no allergies or other conflicts with anything else you are taking, of course. Be careful with dosages and dosing intervals, and make sure anything else you take doesn't already contain acetominaphen.

Thanks, Moe.

I do know about the Tylenol dangers. Years ago I worked as a paralegal on a case where a nursing student took double doses of it and ended up in the ER with liver failure. Trouble was, she was taking cold medicine (with Tylenol in it). Then her Dr prescribed some cough syrup or other cold meds (with Tylenol in it as well), but didn't know she was already taking the other stuff. It only took 3 or 4 days and her liver just shut down.

Dosing with Tylenol must be followed correctly.

Really liking the brim curl and that front to back swoop line of the crown profile.
Thanks, Robert. I'd take one of these in every color.

That's one SPECIAL dusty lid, there, Greg! Super nice!!
Thank you, Charlie. Always looking your way for inspiration.

Perfect specs & a great look for you BB!
Thanks, HJ. Always inspired by your critique and encouragement.

That sir is a cool hat.
Coming from a man who has acquired a bunch of them since joining here, thank you, sir.

I recently had to go to the dentist for what turned out to be a jaw problem and found out from said dentist that dosing guidelines for tylenol and all the NSAID family were recently changed to a lower daily max dose with a longer interval. Also found out that Aleve, which never did much for my back pain, is very effective for mouth pain. Throw in a proper dose of Tylenol on top of that and voila! blessed relief from maddening aches.
(To stay on topic, I wore a hat on that dental visit.:))

This is the best Charlie!
If inclined a little to the left becomes "un cappello sulle ventitrè" (a hat on twenty-three), real fashion in Italy in the twenties and thirties.
It is said of the hat or cap brought much tilted to one side, like the line that traces the diameter of the face of a clock by touching the digits indicating the hours of 5 and 11 hours, that is, the twenty-three is often understood as a sign of bravado ;)
That is so cool Daniele, going to file this story away for further use!

A stunner at twice the price!! Nice looking hat, it has character. It just figures that you would have a "vintage button store" to go to, I'm moving to to your town!
