Old Crofut & Knapp Knapp-Felt derby today. Throwing in a shot of the tag for smart folks' ideas on vintage. I think that I may have found that info out before, but the older I get, the more mushy my memory gets. View attachment 61981

And of course, because sunshine is back... View attachment 61986

A glorious Wednesday to all!
Very nice looking Derby! And a classic to boot! I love wearing a Derby around the unhatted masses, it really throws them for a loop!

Joao – No rain is falling on you, brother.

Esther – Don’t we all! Great ribbon.

Kuki – Thanks for letting us in on your process.

Strapped – Christmas tie!! Love those Cavanaghs.

Fabio – Underdressed as usual, I see.

RJR – That hat is you.

MM – Awesome. I look like a mushroom in a Derby.

Danielle – Bello. Va bene con il tuo vestiti oggi.

For me, my new to me Borsalino Renna. Must be an earlier one because it has a wider brim than most Rennas I’ve seen.

Well, my Dobbs Temptation is back in the lineup since Mike Miller at NW Hats sewed in a new sweatband. This is the one with the short - medium hair "satin" finish. The hat came to me NOS from an ebay seller who had it marked as Shantung straw. I took it under the Make An Offer option, all-in for $40 shipped to my front door. The only thing is, the sweat was man-made of questionable material which was deteriorating, and left flakes of black, and grease marks across my forehead every time I wore it.

Now it fits much better and leaves no marks, woo-hoo!

Old picture from this summer. I paired it this morning with brown "coyote" colored slacks, a button down short with stripes of burgundy and 3 different shades of brown. Heavy, lined leather jacket to top it off. It's 26 F here so a bit cold.

I have to laugh at the weather reports. They're going crazy with the "monster" winter storm baloney and we might get a little freezing rain and a whopping................................ wait for it..................................... four (4) whole inches of............................ s-n-o-w, snoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That one is beautiful! Brim width is special for this model? Is it gray?

Classic looking! Love this tone of brown. Is the liner and sweat as beautiful as the crown and brim?
Here the liner, so you can judge
hv4bk1.jpg

It is very simple as most of the "modern" Italians hats
Thanks!

Lovely finish and color Daniele!
Harv your appreciation is welcome in a cold and sunny afternoon!

Danielle – Bello. Va bene con il tuo vestiti oggi.
Adrian thanks! Remember that I'm Italian for the clothes, the choice of colors and so on ;)

Even just an inch of snow will paralyze the entire valley! They will probably close or delay opening of the OSU Campus tomorrow, I might just add some Schnapps to my coffee and watch the craziness on the news. I do love the ribbon (puggaree?) on that hat. Does it have a liner logo. Sounds like the Dobbs stamp (dating aid) was gone when you got it.
