How would you describe the color of this beauty? I'm wondering if it's the same as my misty gray St. Regis...
Hey Blue. This has a minty green color to it. Shows up better under clear skies, but it's always kind of tough for the camera to pick up its subtleties. I'd say this photo best captures it... but even there, there is too much "bluishness" than in reality.

Take it easy.

Amendment: here are another couple that capture it a bit better I think...

Another rainy day here.

Royal DeLuxe Stetson that started its life as a homburg. The Lounge's own Bond fedora-ized this'n.

This hat makes me want to go to a jazz club, sit back and while away the hours listening to great music. Sadly, work beckons.

Happy Tuesday.
I like Homburgs..... but I like this conversion more. Really great Matt!

Nice Strat. Do you wear a hat in your home office?
Michael

There's a pic on here from a couple of weeks ago of me sitting at my desk with a hat on, but it's pretty rare to see me wearing a hat of any type indoors. I spent part of my youth growing up on a military base, in addition to having a family that observed similar rules whether we were on or off-base. In short - you wear no cover indoors. Hard habit to break.

I think this will be a more than one hat day. First I wanted to see what this Mallory (Stetson) I've been slowly working on looks like.

I shrank, is that a word?, it a couple of sizes and resized the sweat. And sanded, is ponced what you call it?, some of the surface fading/stains out.

I guess now it's ready for some alternate ribbon treatments.

Glad to hear the surgery went well Charlie. We need your pungent critique of the hat show.

Coraggio Carletto! Ti aspettiamo al più presto in forma più che mai ;)

Michael your jacket is fantastic! The Mallory needs more work.
The Mossant brim are the standard for the EU hats of that era: 5 centimetres. The crown will accept shaping, it holds the form. I have a special feeling with the felts no plain or "shaved"
Thanks Daniele. And I agree about Mallory, though no amount of work I do will rescue if from the moth holes. It's my test bed for hat torturing.

I think it was that picture from a couple of weeks ago that made me ask today.

I've moved on to my second hat of the day. Cap actually,

An old newsboy of unknown parentage, but it was at least conceived in a union shop. It has a bit of insulation in it and most importantly today,

earflaps.
You may notice that I added another layer to my top half as well as a scarf and gloves. Now I think I'm ready to face the bitter wind.
