There couldn't be a better place to post today's hat than under a picture of the creasemeister himself. TonyB made this hat for me in February, and at the time we talked about what crease we wanted. We talked about a teardrop but decided to leave the hat with Tony's center dent, and I would recrease it if I decided to.

After this much time I decided I really wanted a teardrop for the lid but I didn't want to do it myself. I thought the hat was far too nice for my teardrop. I debated with myself and finally decided the worst that would happen would be for him to say no, so I asked the master of the teardrop if he would take the hat and work his magic on it. Jim, the gentleman that he is, graciously accepted, I sent the hat off to him and he returned to me this truly beautiful thing.

Thank you, Jim and thank you, Tony. The look and feel of this hat are simply indescribable. Jim's whispering dog said he loves it too.

Great hats!

BobC - BOLD! That's a neat one. A little envious.

This one was on the doorstep this morning. A new ( to me ) Adventurebilt. I did a little touch-up on the creasing, and other than that, it's in perfect condition. This is the second one of these I have, now, and they're really neat hats.

I've nearly rounded out my "must haves", the AB being one of them, and feel that there's only one more hat I just gotta have ( and, naturally up-grade the ones I've already got ;) ... oh yeah, and maybe just add a little gravy to the collection... ). Anyway, wouldn't you know, once I dropped it for this one, the elusive "missing hat" availed itself to me. Now I'll probably have to get TWO hats this week. Dang!:p

Stetson XXXXXX Straw (Shantung) "Open Road".

Some observations:
1. Of all the hats sold at the HATCO Outlet, in Garland, TX, the Open Roads are the least discounted.
2. I can see absolutely no difference between the 30X Charlie 1 Horse (Shantung) and the 6X Stetson (Shantung).
3. "Open Road" is not stamped on the sweatband, but the manufacturer says it is an Open Road. (See the inventory tag tucked into the sweatband. This is consistant with the manufacturer's practice with all their other models.)
