You can lead the parade, Rick... SWEET!!!

Hmmm...maybe I oughta ask over that the Ask a Question Get an Answer thread...I don't know the reasons for the difference, Don, and so I'm guessing it's just a style touch. Your suggestion about the XLO factor may be right, but only for those of us with that curse?
Now we have something else to obsess and wonder about, though, and that's good. Thanks!
That Cavanagh is my favorite in our house... and it's not mine. It just drops into a sweet diamond crease and pops right back to an open crown in a second. And the hand, oh lordy the hand on the felt. Velvet blue-grey goodness. The ribbon on that cavenaugh. Love the color.
Great hats guys.
Beautiful Dobbs!View attachment 60063 Good morning Gentleman and ladies.
Nice cool morning here in central FL. Hope all of you have a grand day of it.
My Dobbs fifteen
Those are beautiful hats worn by one great looking couple. Blue and that grey with bluish undertones are some of my favorite colors for hats. And those are both beauties. We got out for some lunch and a movie today while the sun was still shining. I wore the new-to-me dark navy Disney with a button down shirt and a navy cashmere jacket. MrsFed donned her blue/grey Cavanagh that I covet every day. If one pops up in 7-3/8 or 7-1/2 I'll be all over it.
Thanks Dlaniger. And as always you are wearing that great looking cap and hat with style.Real pretty hat MM!

Hey, thanks a lot! We have fun walking around town in our hats. I look at that picture and wonder, just a little, "what's that pretty latina doing with that old curmudgeon?"Those are beautiful hats worn by one great looking couple. Be well... Be kind... Have fun!
That's such a great hat, RJR! How do you like the lightweight felt?View attachment 60067
VS Lightweight in black cherry today.
Then yours is a "non-dimensional" brim.
The difference is generally small, like this on the Stetsonian...

Two hat day!
Running errands this afternoon.

Veterans Banquet in town this evening!
That's because they're made in Australia, I think. The southern hemisphere effect? That's my guess.Interesting ... I have an Akubra with a dimensional brim, but it's the opposite configuration from your photo above, wider at the front and back, narrower at the sides.
When I grabbed this Premier Knox Madison Avenue this morning, I had not yet seen Mr. and Mrs. FedOregons' post. For whatever reason (maybe 'cause we had our first Virginia Beach freeze of the season last night) , I gravitated towards blue grey today. Fabulous! I guess great minds think alike, eh? Or maybe, like you say, it's just the cold weather. I love the color, too. My name came up on the wait list with John Penman and, after many changes of my fevered hat brain, I decided on steel beaver felt, a grey with blue tones. A few more weeks and I'll have that one...When I grabbed this Premier Knox Madison Avenue this morning, I had not yet seen Mr. and Mrs. FedOregons' post.
