Good morning. Early morning found me out on a dog walk with a Cordova Cap.
For a coffee shop mtg. with a potential new employee I wore my vtg. Cavanaugh. Inky blue with maroon trim - lovely colors. Hard to capture in a morning pic.
Best, Eric

Mighty Monday morning (for a few more minutes here, at least) Mateys! The hats continue the high standards today. Nothing less than EXCELLENT!!
This weekend, I had the opportunity to attend a beautiful, if not too humid afternoon wedding on Cape Cod at the summer home of a member of the band of geriatrics (tongue in cheek, here, for sure) known as "Aerosmith."
The wedding and setting were as beautiful as the bride could have wished for, and everyone was on their best behavior, almost. The evening was rounded out by him joining the wedding band for a rendition of "Sweet Emotion." Lovely night was had by all, but even in the most posh of venues, never put down a Panama hat you care about if there's alcohol being served...

Did I mention HUMIDITY?!!! The ladies were more bothered by their frizzed up hair than the mosquitoes, but not even twelve plagues could have spoiled this event!!
Thank you folks for so many kind complements, making a really special and spectacular Spectator spectacle. I'm glad I wasn't wearing Spats!!
"Specs" were something I had wanted since my college days. Life and budgeting prevented me from getting the original style I so wanted, Allen Edmonds "Broadstreet," which was discontinued before I could afford them. So, when the universe allowed, about fifteen years ago, I bought these slightly updated Allen Edmonds spectators. Then, Allen Edmonds began making the Broadstreet again, but too late for this life! THANK you all for the kind words.
Enjoy your honeymoon, Blue!!
I was thinking the same thing,James Garner played a good cowboy but I've often wondered how he kept his hats on while riding a horse. Or in the wind for that matter.Nice look Johnny. Reminds me of this fellow.
Awesome! I would really love some authentic specs... I used to be a quasi-professional Eastcoast Swing dancer so I ran through MANY a pair of Stacy Adams cheapies. Now, I have a couple pairs of cheapy Aldo specs (black and brown) that I bust out pretty frequently:
You have a little bit of the Texas Sheriff look going there. I like it!Resistol 7X with a cutter crease today.

You have Balmorals!! Well done (in my book). Some guys prefer bluchers, like these "Conards" from the only US manufacturer to (still) offer a Spectator style, Johnston & Murphy. Who knows where they're made, though...

Happy Birthday !!! May you be blessed all year long !!So, you might ask me, "What did you get on your birthday today, David?" And I'll say...
My 2,000th post on the The Fedora Lounge!!! Whoohoo!! Fitting to do it in my FPH Statler...
I ALSO received an amazing gift from my wife and daughters. She commissioned a water color (12x17 I believe) done by my niece, Sydney, who has been making waves in the local art scene. This is my little angel face, Gracie. My niece was able to capture her personality perfectly. Amazing work, and I will treasure it. It's still in the plastic sleeve, but we're going to get it matted and framed this coming week. Sooooo happy...
Dang! Calfskin for only 155.00? Clearly I've been looking in the wrong places! At that price point they're probably not manufactured stateside, but that's not too big a deal to me. Blucher or Oxford, I'll take either with full broguing detail =)
