Hey all!
Mallard Monday?
Mallard Monday!!!
The sweatband on my 40's Dobbs Game Bird went Crispy Duck on me, and became pretty clear Saturday night that there was no saving it. So, last night, I plucked and gutted it, stuffed it with a new sweatband from Bond, and now have mounted it on a suitable platform.
and since Fruno insists I show my work :
Have a ducky day!
I like the swoop of that brim Johnny.

New Jack, thank you sir!!Very very nice! I like the profile on this piece! One day, I'll find one that fits my noggin...
Great showings always ladies and gents! I remain inspired!
Needed a bit of shade today in my Navy Borsa...Anticipation of the Fall felt season continues...
Ha! Your fowl puns really quack me up!A ducky day, Indeed, Moe! Now wait until you get the BILL!

Thanks, Fruno! A bacon-band is a bummer, and losing the debossments sucks, but at least now I don't have to baby it, and the fit is perfect!Still a beautiful hat, Moe. Sorry about the sweatband.

Thanks!Looks amazing. Thoroughly professional. I had exactly the same issue with my Keens gray fedora and went the 100 % homemade route. I will post photos soon. The result feels fantastic but lacks the finish of yours, since I hand cut and hand stitched the whole thing, with my limited lifetime-spent-in-an-office hatter skills.
I've also lost all sensation in my middle fingertip. One day, I will learn to use a thimble
We will have to get them together for a play date (with photos!).That hat looks great, Red! I love it! (and it's near clone is coming to me soon from NW Hats!).
The wrinkles accentuate the smooth felt, contrastThis may sound odd... But you have a great hat face
I'm sure you know what I mean ... Not everyone does
