Nice cap. How did you do the leather bill? Interior pics maybe?

I'm afraid the inside isn't much to look at, less so now as it's going into it's third season of hard wear as my go to bicycling cap.

This pic sort of shows the construction, which is just standard cap type. If you click the picture you can get to the full resolution images. In any case, the white part is a double thick light cotton strip to help maintain the size and also absorb sweat. The colorful bit is the silk sweatband. The orange bit is cotton/poly bias seam binding to finish the turned seams since it's unlined. And you can just glimpse the leather down in the seam. It's an upcycle project made from a ladies linen skirt and leather taken from a ladies trench coat. The bill is basic turned seam construction and then the stiffener is added in between the 2 outer layers of leather and the whole thing is sewing onto the cap. In this case the stiffener is another piece of heavier leather.

This is more what it looks like on the inside when it's not turned inside out.

It's hot here today and the beginning of a weekend long Arts Festival So I am going to be jaunting downtown to take in the opening part of that later today. Whether it's bicycle or another means of transport depends on how hot it gets. And it's the boater that got the call.

Now I think I'll catch up on some hats before I take off.

It's true that Dunlop did them name Duplex back in the day. After Art made mine there was a push on the Lounge for a new name and Dualist was born.

"Duplex" was associated with Knox felt/straw offerings in the early part of the 20th C. I believe the Dunlap (not Dunlop) that was the inspiration for this nice essay by Art Fawcett is c.1940. Further reading here.
