Sun, clouds, rain earlier and again later. Late spring in other words. Artisan made Fidepal today.

Venus Palm, whatever that is.

Considering that I've had this for about 30 years now I would say it's held up fairly well.

I'm enjoying today's show here. Some real masterworks of hatmaking.

My kind of straw; in fact, it looks a lot like my Sunbody 3" brim.

That's a thing of beauty. I don't blame you for braving the heat. I was considering buying a Gannon beaver instead of a Moonstone Fed IV, but I am concerned about how often I could wear it in hot and humid Houston. Can you offer a review of how it wears in the heat and whether humidity is an issue?

I should add that if you do post one, the review would probably be better served in the Gannon thread.

Buy one in Silvermist, its my lighter Gannon, but this bone doesn't feel heavy at all.

I see you are getting more hats, Gannon's are nicer than Akubras by far, but at the end of the day you will need to get a Fed IV in moonstone...

Go get a Gannon in Silvermist and/or bone and a Peters Bros hemp in natural... Those are great buys.

Yes. I've been getting a few more recently. I just received a Balmoral and Cattleman, I really wanted a Moonstone Fed IV so that I'm covered in several color options and it looks like a mainstay, but I really admire Gannon's work from the pictures. I would probably plan on most future hats being customs from him and maybe others depending on how many hats I can buy without having the wife start a hat bonfire.
