I, too, was slightly disappointed.
But, she was so smooth with this poor raptor that I saw no struggle or much distress at all. There was an injured (broken?) wing, and according to Danielle, if I hadn't called them, the chances of it making it through the night were slim, and that I probably saved his life.
I asked if that makes me something of a savior, and she said, "Yes, something." I like Danielle.
She said the hawk would be taken back to their Boston Veterinary Hospital for care, and eventually would be returned to the Blue Hills Preservation. Watch out, MiamiB; there will be a big bird overhead in you neighborhood!
