Calling all cars!!! OR with bad case of taper spotted at Third and Elm. metropd, you're the first responder. Get back up from Deputy Swoopy. Once the OR is in custody, get it back to RBH at the lab for a forensic workup -- then on to IndyCop for a complete refurb. Now, let's move!!!

:D

10-4. 10-97 on Third and Elm. Open Road in Custody, 10-23. Open Road is in poorly tapered cattleman's Crease with slight smudges on the right center side of the crown intruding onto the side dent. OR is 10-14, 10-19 with Open Road. OR given to forensics for reblocking and cleaning. 10-98 with OR. Will be 10-8 for further hat enforcement.

Roger that, metropd. That's what I was afraid of -- a tapered cattleman's crease. Smudged, no less.

Patrolman, your response was timely and effective. You are hereby awarded a Certificate of Commendation for your unflagging commitment and dedication. Stand by -- this could be a long day.

And, hey -- let's be careful out there...

30s raffia hat from yesterday

This cheeky little hat was from a seller in the UK. I especially chose this one for the lavendar color and the purple velvet ribbon

The tiny flowers on the back are a faded peach color

Here's the entire ensemble: This vintage boucle' coat with fur running down the front is one I keep reaching for wearing with my casual clothes too. Sure beats a zip front sweatshirt!

BTW, MetroPD, you look as sharp in uniform as out of it. Not that this is unexpected, of course. :)

Thank you for the kind words, i'm hoping to get a bigger brimmed fedora (all this fed IV praise has me really riled about ordering one soon)

I'm thinking of ordering a new suit as well, double breasted (hopefully) vested, darker gray or earthy colored brown, but that pinstripe is i'd say my best suit without a doubt.

Now that you mention it, is the suit in the pic vintage or modern?

Cooper looks a bit camera-shy, Michaelshane. Nice Optimo and another swell tie.

I suppose its modern- i bought it a year or two ago for 200 dollars at MensUSA
http://www.mensusa.com/products.aspx?id=478

Mine is black though. I had it altered slightly at the waist but otherwise i'm very pleased with it, and although its a new suit, it certainly has an "old fashioned" look to it, perhaps its the wide, pointed lapels. but that you need to ask is quite pleasing!

Hat du jour

Today I'm wearing my Disney circa 1948. That is not me under the hat.

The hat has a bit of history, it was given as prize at a shooting competition and was originally owned by the captain of the Remington Firearms shooting team. Best, Sam
