I'm enjoying all the snow pics - after last winter in New Hampshire, I'm quite happy to now be in Texas.

Enjoying all the hat and snow pics, fellas, and happy not to have to shovel the stuff anymore. We're getting our share of sorely needed rain here, though, so no complaints on that front.

I've shaped and re-shaped this hat more times than I can count. I may have finally listened to the thing and got it right.

Resistol San Antonio-style, Open Road clone no-name thin ribbon silverbelly something or other.

A trip to the antique mall with my son leads to an important discovery: For all of this time, my hat collection has been devoid of examples of one of the most important kinds of headgear...
The wig hat!

Awesome! Just awesome. That old song from the Cramps immediately popped into my head.

"I can still hear mamma calling...junior get home! What's got into you? What's that on your dome?"

It's sunny but cold here in Central Ohio. We didn't even get the dusting of snow that was predicted for our area. No snow for us. We lucked out, this time. Some of you guys look like you got hit pretty good. At least you're all well hatted, though.

I posted this picture a couple weeks back but I'm wearing this western conversion again today. It's an unknown Western brand, possibly a store brand. It was pretty beat up when I got it. Some reblocking and some moderate converting with a ribbon change and I ended up with this. Big Texas Fedora sounds fitting enough, I guess....

Why hat wearing became less popular in the 1950s...
