STUNNING, Steve. Just Fantastic look! Quite a week for you!!

RobertM I think you can get away easily with that one. It doesn't appear to be overly big in the pic. Keep it!

Eric the earthy pine green of that beautiful felt looks almost delicious. And grilled fish and veggies also sounds delish!

Great selection today.
No pic today. Gusty wind, so I beat the sawdust out of my patchwork Hanna cap and wore that all day.
Javadave- yes, you have a serious problem...not enough hats OR ties...
SBG- that green Strat is awesome.
Fruno- I guess I have to get out more often too. I think that lid is a bit exciting as well.
Chamuco- nothing wrong with an affordable hat that looks great on you.

Charlie and Moehawk; Thanks gentlemen for the generous comments.

I received a query about the brim dimensions of my vtg. Stetson Stratoliner with a removed brim trim. I answered back and I wanted to share with you an illustrative pic below. Both hats are vtg. Stetson Stratoliners of similar age, color but different brims. Enjoy.

In order to be "Fedora Lounge" thread accurate, I am wearing the fedora with brim treatment. Apologies to those who are not vtg. Stetson Strat. fans for clogging the "bandwidth." I promise to wear other hats in the near future. Best, Eric -

Eric,

I think the modified brim looks fantastic; nicer than the non-modified Stetson. Great style, great color. Much to be said about vintage hats.

I posted this in the "Ask a question, get an answer: area, but figure I'd get a larger group of viewwrs here, so I hope that's ok. Question, as most know, buying a hat online can be a gamble, color, crown height and bash, brim width, etc adds to the gamble. Long and short of it, I am size 61 and usually XL - 7 5/8" fits/sits fine. This is a 7 7/8" and was loose, so I inserted a foam strip around the inner band and fits better, though a little loose. i will also adjust/shape the brim. I'm thinking this is too wide a hat for my head/face as well as sits too low on my head (quick/down and dirty pic aside) Whaddya think?

That hat suits you perfectly. I find that just a piece of paper towel, folded up and stuck in the back of the liner, works as well as anything else

Following yesterday's grey Caxton with this brown Caxton today.

great look on you my man ... and you've inspired me to get a few bow ties ... I have a few events coming up and I am quite tired of the long neck tie.
the only problem is that with the beard you may not see the bow and it will look like I'm not wearing a tie at all :)

Temps have cooled considerably the past day or so, and are in the mid 60s this AM. No rain in the forecast for once in a Blue Moon. Today, I'm sportin' my Dalton.

definitely one of my favorite slices of yours Fruno
I feel our tastes are similar ...

Thanks, moontheloon. I have to admit that GregNYC was the one who encouraged me to drag my bow ties out of the closet and use them for more than formal occasions. I've now become more known for my bow ties than my long ties at the office as a result.

I'm sure that if you sport a brighter tie that it'll be visible under the beard. It just wont be AS noticeable. Must admit I'm trying to picture myself tying the bow while trying to keep a beard out of the way and laughing a bit. I still need a mirror to tie one properly, but can tie a long tie with no need for a mirror.
