Eric, shortly after seeing you in your fantastic bowler last night, someone sent me a link to this Led Zeppelin tribute from 2013. You'll love the choir and drummer. All wearing bowlers! (But not as nice as yours). The drummer, btw, is the son of the late drummer, John Bonham, who often sported a bowler. After he died at age 33, the band never wrote songs or performed together again, as the loss was too devastating for Robert Plant. Anyway, Happy Friday everyone!

Well, they did do a one-off in 2007 for the O2 show. Jason sat in on drums. Plant has said he's currently not interested because he can no longer hit the notes.

Ahh, Led Zepplin. I have it on many workout playlists in the gym. The gymnasts call it "old guy music." I remind them that "Old Guys Rule." Excellent example of bowlers worn in public. It will take more practice to be comfortable in this style. Practice, practice and more practice. Perhaps more bowlers...ahhh.

Harv, you are batter man than me sir! A vacation - what in the world are those? I have seen them in the movies. Seriousely I wish you truly only best wishes to you and family during your vacation.

This morning I was up before the sun came above the horizon and was hanging at the lake shore enjoying the cool morning with a cup of coffee. I wore my Pendleton wool robe and a vtg. Champ lightweight (gray) for comfort - certainly not style. The Loons, roosting Eagles, wading birds, and ducks and I were not concerned with style before 5:30am.

Dogs and I walked around the lake and I spiffed up and wore my VS Weston (silvermist colored beaver felt) inspired fedora. DJH has one similar and I think they have gorgeous lines and details. I share a pic of the inside of the hat as it usually has interest to us hat folks. When I show the inside to acquaintances, mostly they nod politely.

I am enjoying a day off. I have a couple of "new" hats taking naphtha baths and a couple getting a "Scout" cleaning. House, yard and beach chores can be completed around hat chores today. Sweet!

Best, Eric -

Eric, you never cease to amaze! Your casual style is perfect for living on a lake. Or in a city. Or the woods. Or in a village. Etc.

Frunob I am NOT tired of seeing that beauty. Fantastic, all-around lid!

Perry; it's good to see you pop your l'il head up from all those real world demands to make an appearance today. Rockin' the OR!

Carduro24 your pug is possibly the perfect pattern, pal!

S4C do NOT get rid of that Dobbs!! It gives you another option in your rotation, and is really great dimensionally for your mug, man. JMO...

Harv, it's a relief to go on ANY vaca, but you are on a fantastic journey! Super Cordova!!

Well, on this overcast and possibly rainy day, I've made it my (mosquitoey ) Mallory morning, men!

Thanks, Bob, and right back atcha! Me, the dog, and my MOTHER are headed north shortly. My "kid" will be watching the fort, and the warden will join us later, driving up by her lonesome. Should be an interesting time with Mom. She's STILL in charge, y'know!

Your Bishop's da balz, sir! Talk about "summery..."

Bob and HatsRme... you guys are so hip, I can't understand you. Between my kids telling me to "get with it dad" and you guys out-hipping me, I'm really getting a complex.

Maybe the Strat again today will help. That's always hip.

Meanwhile, Harv... great to see you out there enjoying life! Travel is one of the great gifts of the modern world!

SBG... I'm doing far more than nodding politely at your VS Weston. That's one of the best looking hats I've seen in a long time. Just gorgeous.

Hats... that mosquito knows a sweet ride when he sees one!

Bob... Never seen the Bishop before. Looks great!

Moon... You make me doubt whether my Open Road is indeed the same hat. Yours just looks fantastic on you and the way you have it shaped.

Chamuco... You're feeding everyone's addiction. Now stop it! :D

With the threat of rain still looming, I went for the Akubra today. I spent about an hour trying to pounce it down to it'soriginal color to get rid of the old band-line left from when it was a Snowy River. Made some headway, but its still a wide ribbon lid for now. It also got a visit from my newly made rounding jack to pretty up the edge.

Moehawk, hat looks great. I like the ribbon that you currently have on it, personally.

Anyway, today my Bluegrass Green Campdraft arrived, so I did a quick cattleman style dry crease and started wearing it. It is a super nice hat and I can't wait to get the Silverbelly Campdraft Deluxe.
