Jeff, Michael, thanks guys. I appreciate the comments.

Jeff, I'm definitely liking your Resistol. The bow work looks interesting, from what I see of it. Can you post a pic of the bow itself?

Michael, hatguy, AnA, classic looking straws and Boater.

Everyone else, you all look great. I'm continually transgressing the 10th Commandment!

Happy 4th of July to US Fedora Loungers!

This morning doing lawn chores I was wearing my Akubra Campdraft (bluegrass). What a trusty lid for all sorts of occasions. I wear this hat hard and it always comes thru like a champ. It adds class to my casual yard chore attire.

This evening I am heading out for a late night picnic and to watch a local firework display. My Cordova Cap in linen is my evening head attire.

Enjoy the evening folks. Best, Eric -

Thanks g.durand Yes that is Continental Park in the Backround, Nashville was a lot of fun! The hat is My Akubra Tablelands, reshaped to look more western. I suspect that I will be purchasing a new hat on this trip.

Happy 4th of July to everyone.

I started with this stingy brim Resistol BR 20.

Since it does not provide enough shade, switched to this... less stingy brim Stetson Nutria.

Again, not enough shade so this long hair Thoroughbred.

This morning I completed a dog walk and barbecue and fire pit clean-up wearing a straw. The vintage straw is very comfortable. The temps "cooled down to 65'F last night and will heat up to 90'F today. It is hot for our corner of the earth.

Off to church this morning in my straw fedora. (Figure if I'm heading out to give thanks for living in a free country, I'd wear re same straw fed I wore to celebrate that freedom last night).

Sam, David, Eric, Mantis, Joao, hatguy, Nice hats guys. I'm really liking the Campdrafts. Are those brims shaped more like an Open Road brim, or are they shaped more along the lines of a fedora brim? I think I asked someone this question before, but the brim widths on the Campdrafts are 2 3/4, is that correct?

For me today, I got out another of my Stagecoaches. This one, Joao, has a 4 inches wide brim. I reblocked the crown on this and gave it a Center Dent crease. I also replaced the original cheesy feathered hat band for this vintage 8 ply mid-ribbon with a simple bow. (I may cut the brim down on this one and convert it over to an Indy fedora...was that Joao I just heard falling to the floor? Just kidding.)
