The hat matches the setting perfectly. Are those some Blue Ridge mountains behind you? They sure look blue to me.

Yes, that's the Blue Ridge. Those two prominent "humps" that can be seen along the skyline are Table Rock and Hawksbill, along the eastern rim of the Linville Gorge. The hike I took today was retracing part of the route I took from those two mountains (about 50 miles in the distance) way back in 1971. Today was the first time I'd been on that same section of the trail since then. Those hills sure have gotten a lot steeper over the years. :)

Oh, by the way, when I did that hike in '71 I was wearing a Moose River hat (not the same one as today, of course). Some things never change.

Mark, I like pork pies! I'm glad you're giving it a run today!

Today, new spring-weight 8-dart cap from Barry:

Joao – Love the long hair. Looks like it’s still cold there.

Strapped – It may not be your style but it looks funky. Perfect for a Friday.

NYC – Awesome design on the cap. Very cool. It must be much warmer in NYC than Boston. 14 degrees this morning.

Rick – Great picture. Not a bad hat either.

My Bellamy this chilly morning.

Miami, great tie! And the Bellamy has those great noir contours!

Perry, I like the loose pinch, the brim curl and the best!

I'm wearing a Stetson 20 today. I believe it's from the early 60s. It's a darker grey opened crown hat, bashed into a teardrop crease.

A super showing of gentlemen's headwear lately, guys. I Have an on-campus meeting today. That combined with the unseasonably mild (almost 80 yesterday) weather makes the perfect occasion for the inaugural wearing of one of my new Panama Bob's straws. Wearing the straw colored one today with my purple Friday Lent season polo shirt.

Thanks hat – o. I'm pleased with it. I do wish that I could get the brim to come down just a little bit in front. it sort of has a turned up or porkpie look to the front of it. But I'm sure over time I can get it to cooperate to my way of thinking.
