Anachrocon starts in Atlanta today, so I'm breaking out the bowlers and top hat. Still trying to decide on the outfit for today, but I've almost got tomorrow afternoon's outfit planned.
I'd like to poll the group, though. Which waistcoat to pair with morning dress - the grey or the buff?

Today I've brought the 1930s (?) Borsalino:






I purchased this one some two years ago from FL member HarpPlayerGene. The story he had -- though I haven't been able to read the threads on it here at FL -- was that this hat dated from before WWII. The haberdasher in Sofia, Bulgaria (see the sweatband pic), decamped when the war broke out, and his stock remained untouched until fairly recently.

In any case I like the color. It doesn't fit me as sturdily as other hats I have; softly, yes, but it doesn't grip, if you know what I mean. I always worry that a good breeze will knock it off my head.

S4C: Both waistcoats look great. Grey seems a tad more formal; buff more as if the word "dapper" or "dandy" had been invented specifically for that look.

Well in order to keep up with my Panamas today I got my Stetson Panama Centerdent, nice hat, when you grab it it makes a crunchy sound, my only Panama to do that, does it since new... I have sprayed it with distilled water and keeps doing it.

Nice hat, like it a lot, stylish and sofisticated for the summer but keeps an informal air...
