A lot to catch up on here, just got back from the Ore coast this long weekend. Record setting temps for Feb, 65 degrees on Sat. and the crowds reflected it. Started Fri with a visit to the Evergreen Air Museum in McMinnville. I'm in front of a GeeBee, wearing a BSHW

Inside the Spruce Goose, apologize for the poor quality selfie

The coast near Depot Bay

Newport, note the sea lions enjoying the sun too

Panadora, what a jazzy, cool hat. And what better background than a wall full of vinyl!!!!
Thanks :)

Panadora-- a nice looking jazz hat. What is it?
Thanks!
It's a Mayser which have an unpleasant and embarrassing smell of old classic hand soap. It is getting better but, I haven't used it much in public yet.

Today I wear my modern Borsa beater (photo from last week though)

This just in. A "Maltese Falcon" special in slate gray from Mike at Northwest. I'm very happy with it, and the felt has that clay-like feeling I notice in my vintage Cavanagh. This is just joking around - more photos later in the New Hat and NW threads.

Again wearing Art's rendition of an old Stetson picked up by Alan. I'm really loving this one.
Thanks for the pics, Mike looks like fun.
Sometimes those beaters come in handy Panadora.
Looks like you're staying warm Hatguy.
Cool cap to go with the chilly weather Dave.
Wow, great looking Maltese Greg, good to see you up and about again.

Greg, Classic Fedora profile, I like it.

Forgot to post yesterday. Nice day before the cold, wind and rain blew in last night.

Thanks GregNYC and g.durand.

Nice Akubra javadave.

--------------------------------------------------------------------
g.durand: I've taken the liberty of expanding on your formula for number of hats to own.
n = Hats owned
s = Separation number at which wife or significant other will leave
d = Desired number of hats up to the point of separation but not past it

So:
s-1 = n + d

d = s-n-1

So if you have 2 hats and your wife will leave at 50 hats then you have the following:

d = 50-2-1 = 47.

The hard part is figuring out the real value of s.

Nice photos Mikespens

Perry, that is a very nice hat.

After days of rain the sun is still shining.....
Today a modern Tonak arrived in the morning.
1rt0tu.jpg

The fur felt is medium stiff and finished as "suede". Color is a medium grey.
fjf1h5.jpg

Unlined with brim at 7 cm. and crown 10 cm.
2dv02q.jpg

It arrived the shape you see, but with steam you can arranged the crown as you want.

A very interesting hat......

Daniele, I have a Tonak beret but can't wear it because it is unlined. :-(. I'm liking the wider brim. It suits you well!

Good morning, gentlemen. After an eventful last few days, wearing my Old English Hatter lid to inspect the ice threat.

Been through a blizzard, wedding, (daughter #2) lots of family around this weekend, and now back to the reality of the effects of the weather. Harrumph!!

As a post script, the wedding went off on schedule Sunday afternoon, right after the blizzard subsided. Roads were sufficiently cleared, the sun came out(!) and the elevated setting was absolutely breathtaking!

Thanks Greg. It is my first experience with modern Tonak.
I ordered them to see the state of affairs of a crucial European manufacturer of hats.
I can say that the hats (there is another) will worth the price.
