I want to travel the world with this hat!
All you'd have to do is grab onto the brim with both hands and wait for the next big wind! ;)

Thanks buddy. I appreciate the feedback....I still have a little more to do on the brim though.

Which hat is that you're wearing? I really like that crown and brim. That's a real nice looking hat and it looks like it goes great with casual wear too.

It a VS Silvermist. It was ravaged by moths last year, once I got over the disappointment, I began to wear it more and more as I was no longer worried about getting it stained. After all a light coloured hat seems to be a magnet for dust and dirt. It also no longer felt like a formal hat. It works really well on those colder and damp spring/summer days when you cannot wear a straw hat.

I really love the proportions of this hat and if funds allow will get another, perhaps in a darker colour.

Shame about the moths. The proportions on that hat are exactly the way I like them. I like that color too. It looks versatile enough to wear with both casual and dressier attire.

Good morning, or whatever the case may be! Lovin' the Lids, lads...
Andy there's a lot of room and shade under that brim!
Harv your straw of yesterday was a standout, sir!!
MiamiBruno, I was glad to see your post this week. Indeed, it is time once again... School's out, correct?!

It's straw weather here today. I pulled out the "intended wedding hat" of last season. I avoided wearing this specially commissioned Panama at my daughters wedding last September so that it wouldn't rain. The skies looked ominous, and I knew that if I wore the Panama it would definitely rain, so I switched to a Homburg and the sun popped through.

Should I have the crown raised a touch, like almost 1 cm (knowing that I would lose the same amount of brim width)?! Opinions, PLEASE.

Straws around here today, too

HRme, I rather like it just that way, but I've often wondered why there aren't higher crowned felt pork pies. Beautiful weave too!

Really fantastic hats, everyone! Joao, T Jones, Harv, jhe, Andy, Tedquinton, G. durand, ingineer, Sam, Mike!

Alan, the University Club is just spectacular on your head. Great shade of mint. Also, that Balibuntal is fascinating.

T Jones, I really like the new version of your "Public Enemy" hat!

Thanks for the comments on the BOP. Low angle shot was because I was on the roof cleaning gutters between storms, and well the moment just took me. That was a Stetson Austral, a really neat hat that I'm glad I got for a bargain. I understand there's almost no buffalo felt in it, though it's part of their buffalo felt series, but it is wonderfully coarse and rugged, and has one of the most comfortable sweatbands.

Thanks.

hatsRme - I would prefer a little more height in the crown, and would give up some brim to get it. What about redoing the crease from a telescope to a plain Optimo style? That might give you some more height without reducing the brim.

Here's a hat that doesn't get much wear any longer, and it should see more head time. It's an Australia market Cattleman. It's seen its share of water, wind, and sun. Without liner, it makes for a great summer hat. By far the biggest brimmed-hat I own.
And you wear it well!

I think it looks really nice as it is! If the problem is crown height then maybe raise it a little bit.
