OK, so this probably belongs in the "Stupid Comments" thread, but I don't get shook up over this stuff so I'm ploppin' it here:

I have gone for nearly 30 years wearing brimmed hats without the dreaded Indiana Jones comment - that I can remember. But then there was a lot of time spent inebriated back in the '80s....

Oh well, anyway, so I have read where quite a few Loungers have gotten really P'd off about getting that comment and since then I've really been on the lookout for it. I've even kinda' gone around 'asking for it' wearing the brown hat I posted today around the same time as the recent movie. Nuthin'. I told Nicki that I'd crack up the first time it happened.

Well, this week I lost my virginity - - TWICE -- in the last two days! On Thursday, a guy next door to one of our rentals hollered, "Hey, Indy" while I was over there working on some fixits. And then this morning at a farmer's market a lady said I had the Indiana Jones thing going on, or something of the sort.

It did crack me up. Both times. Nicki was with me for the guy on Thursday. I said, "Did you hear him!? I can't wait to tell the guys!"

lol lol lol

Oh, no. No, sir. He's white, as white as you folks, with empty eyes and a big hollow voice. He likes to travel around with a mean old hound. That's right.

Gene, even your beaters look great. That one looks like you've worked up a quite a few sweats in it, but it still looks good.

Are these guys getting you in on their plot too, Dee? They're trying to make me crazy while I wait for the Major's hats to get here.

That one looks great on you. I'm dying to get my hands on mine!

Thanks, Garrett and Bob. This hat really isn't anything special - it just looks that way. What I mean is I'm sure it's not particularly old, maybe 80s or 90s (?) but the crown height and block are perfect in my book. The felt is fairly heavy and because it's not some sixty year old masterpiece I have decided it'll be a knock-around fedora.

Originally, the brim was wider and although I typically like that, it never quite looked right on this one so I trimmed about 1/8" all around.

These two bottom shots (EB seller's photos) show off the crown and how wide the brim was prior to trimming:
